Drunk Driving is NOT a joke

May peace be with you everyone! I am new here!

I have a good friend who often indulges in the sin of alcohol. It consumes a large portion of his life, as you may recognize by the content of his website at griffinwrites dot com. sorry I can't post links yet, but check if you need to see what I mean.

At heart, I believe he is a good person but his most recent article bothered me. It is about drunk driving.


I understand the article is meant for humor, but how do I help my friend realize that if he accepts God into his life, he will have a more fulfilling existence and wont need alcohol to feel good?

Drunk driving is a serious concern. And so is his health. Alcohol leads to sinning, and it hurts many people.

Do you have any advice about talking to him?

I have also asked Jesus for help.

All you can really do is pray and challenge your friend. Tell him you do not find drunk driving humorous, and that he needs help. He probably needs rehab, and will eventually get arrested for his behavior. Suggest he go to rehab. Never get in a car with him at the wheel.

You cannot convince anyone of anything. The Holy Spirit does that job. He won't see the need until something bad happens to him as a result of his drinking. Everyone has to hit bottom in order to wake up and see the need for sobriety.

i will pray for this person, even if he is a moron. i think it is terrible what he posted there.
i just wonder if its more like a sad attempt at comedy writing?

i bet the local law enforcement and MAD would love to talk to him. maybe you can line that up?
