i like small drum sets like: h'hat, snar, bass, two toms, floor tom, and two crashes and a ride.
i like playing drums just for fun, i will usually play as a back-up though.. since i prefer to play guitar. one group i was in, my friend and i would alternate on the drums and guitar.. we had a blast. I sometimes play on our worship team in church..

I play on a 4-piece kit. Its a Pearl bass drum with Ludwig toms. The bass drum's white and the toms are black so its got the whole classic black and white thing going on. Right now I'm using 2 Sabian studio crashes and a Zildjian ZBT crash/ride along with these German hats that came with my Ludwig kit when I got it. I plan to get all new cymbals soon. Whenever I get some cash I'm getting a 21" Sweet Ride and A custom hats and crashes. You can go to my band's site @ startingpoint.tk and check us out. We're not a christian band, but we still all have our own relationship with God. Some of are still trying to find Him though.

i play drums for fun as well
the hat, snare, bass, toms, floor tom, 16 crash, 18 ride/crash and 20 ride
play sometimes at fellowship (as we stand, a fellowship of 40 with 2 drummers and one bassist, me, so i usually play bass.
last time i counted we have 6-7 guitars and about everyone can play piano...
since our church insists on not purchasing a new set until our electric completely breaks down( beyond repair) we tend to..."use it more" and cause a few more "accidents" lol jokes

We've done something a little different. We have a 7pc Custom DW set mixed in with a 7pc Roland V-Drum Session set. Zildjian K and Z custom cymbols and misc other hardware. Shure drum mics for live performance. I can't think of the monitor we use right off the top of my head.

It works well for us because of the industrial and techno backings we use in our music. Not to mention, its uberkewl sounding. ;)

DW drums I feel are very over reated and over priced.
If you really want a nice sound, feel, and quality go with Yamaha.
The wood work and fram work are imaculate, opposed to DW's "so called chrome" which is actually hard graphite plastic, and I know because I have hosted 2 PASIC conventions for Yamaha drumsets and Marching snares, tenors.

Does anyone want to talk about thier fav. drummers? and why you blieve they are so good?
