Drum Machines

Hey, I'm looking for opinions on drum machines from anyone who knows about such things. I thinking of getting either a Roland TR-8S or a Native Instruments Maschine MK3.

I want want for fooling around with sounds, having fun and seeing what I can do. So, they don't have to serve any other purpose as of yet, such as recording or dj-ing.

no experience with those things, I use a drum plugin called Boom to make my drums on my songs. Before that I just played them on my midi keyboard.
