  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My story is:

I was prescribed ADD meds when I was in elementary school. They gave me tremendous anxiety but got me straight A's, all that nonsense. I turned into a complete psycho and all I wanted to do was get things done.

The ADD meds were put off to go on numerous diets, including the wheat free / dairy free diet and a sugar free diet. Afterwards, I was put back on meds.

I became addicted to Adderall in my junior year of high school. I learned that my depression in the evenings was caused by my medication wearing off, and so I took more. I experimented with taking extra doses of Adderall every day, and especially liked things when I took it with coffee. It sped up the day and filled my mind with thoughts, made everything interesting... there were days I took up to four pills a day. Things went fast, my heart beat fast, it was speed. When I was off of them, I would act like a drunk. I would ram into things and act downright stupid, slurring in my speech, acting dumb as anything. Over the summer I slowly took myself off the drug, and now I only take a quarter of a "blue guy" when I feel the need to be productive. A half a pill has the same effect on me now that two or three pills did before.

However, now I have a new deal... marijuana. I've decided that it is not evil like the media wishes us to believe. I've gotten far better grades this year than I did last, and I only smoke once or twice a week at the most. I do not feel depressed after it like I did for Adderall, and I've learned that it improves eating, sleeping, and all sorts of things. There have been no negative side effects... yet... it is against the law.

Another thing I've experimented with is magic mushrooms. They gave me realizations and inspiration like none other, and allowed me to have a conversation with light that made me want to run around and tell everyone about Jesus. It made me realize what was important and what wasn't, and put me in a much more natural zone. It was a religious experience and one that I believe everyone ought to have, but once again, it was against the law.

My dad told me to think to myself, "Would God want me to do this?" before trying these plants, and I believe that God put them here with those effects and probably wouldn't have done so if he wanted us to avoid them.

I was wondering, what is the general Christian community's outlook on this sort of thing?

The problem Darlenearina is that your on a road that is gradually going to go south for you . I don't wanna sound like Mr Mackey " drugs are bad mmkay " , lol , but the truth is nearly every high school student that does drugs winds up throwing away the best years of they're lives doing drugs .

I speak from experience , not from a Christian vacuum . I started smoking weed in H.S. , and I loved it . Every person says " oh , it won't happen to me , I won't be a druggie. "

I can't tell you how to live, and in many cases people need to learn the hard way .( as I did ) Just some friendly Christian advice, be careful .

God Bless ya

Just wondering. Who decided to put you on a wheat free / no dairy diet? Was it some kind of New Age healer or alternative healer?
God Bless

Naw. It was my mom. x) She read a bunch of ADD and Aspergers books and went psycho on me.

I don't want to worry you. However as a Pastor involved in deliverance work I have come across people who have been placed on this type of diet very often.

I advise you to talk to your mother and find out if any of the books she was reading around that time were by "New Age" authors or the like. It is possible that she became interested in those subjects around that time. Wheat/gluten free diets combined with dairy free are a frequent control mechanism used by witches disguised as New Age / Alternative Healers. Anything like Rudolf Steiner etc is very serious because she may have come in contact with Occult thought and practices.

This kind of influence can bring problems like drugs, addiction into your life at a later date and you need to pray against it.

Oh, no, no. She is the most religious person I know, and is so completely against New Age that it's actually rather frustrating even trying to talk to her about things sometimes. These were ADD books made by other moms who had kids with issues and didn't want them on drugs.

Sevebmsw ,

I am interested in what you said about how that diet is sometimes used as evil . I have a sister in law that is very mean spirited , and claims to be a Christian . She is a fanatic about those kinds of diets , and makes all the kids ( my nephew , and Niece ) follow her very strict diets .

Can you give me any more info into that , or possibly a link to understand more of what you have said please ?

I can remember diets being mentioned in this article: THE NEW AGE IN HEALTH CARE | New Age Movement | Way of Life Literature
Somewhere near the end.

Diets are often used by people to control others. They can be used to weaken the defenses if the perpetrator is knowingly or unknowingly cooperating with demons.

Giving anybody hangups about the food they eat is a very subtle form of evil and the New Age is subtle Luciferianism.

This is a very interesting thing that you have pointed out. No, I do not think that diets are used to control others; I believe they are made mostly for people to help one another gain control of different aspects of their physical and mental being. There is lots of evidence that the food you eat can bring you up or down spiritually and physically, and this has been known even in bible times. God forbade different foods, such as pork, and God doesn't forbid things that aren't good for you. One might look at that as God was being used as a political force to control people, perhaps there was no god and it was power hungry people making up God to scare others... but in that case there would be no devil, either. Diets are good for us. Eating too much candy will harm a person, and those around him should tell him to slow it down and eat healthier. However, the cancelling of dairy products is interesting and I would love to know where that comes from.

Taking drugs that affect the mind impacts the doors between us and the spirit realm. That's why they're used so much in everything from 'tribal magic' to outright occult activities and satanism.
If you look up the different things banned in the old testament under the practice of the occult, (I don't know offhand and don't want to have to look it up) one of the things mentioned is a branch of the occult that specifically deals in drugs. (herbs etc)

I was prescribed valium once and I noticed the next day when I went for a walk that my senses regarding the spirit realm were heightened. You don't want the walls between you and the demonic weakened, particularly if you already have a mental disorder of some nature.
My old doctor (christian) was spirit filled and involved in deliverence ministry too, and she said that they had problems delivering people who were on anti-depressents. The demons just wouldn't leave (she didn't know why) but I can guess. Anti-depressent medication affects brain chemistry.

It's a sticky area and I would be very careful.

As for the pot? I don't know. My own personal advice (and take it as that) would be, pray, but if you really don't know, - go the pot. I personally would pray and see where God led me, but if you're not up to that as a christian and the other drugs are really bad for you, the lesser of two evils is perhaps the best option.

I don't support drugs, but the reality is, the west is dependent on them. Some are just more harmful (and legal) then others.

Most drug addicts (from statistics) say that they started off on pot, which kind of dispels the 'harmless' 'non-addictive' myth. You can get addicted to a substance as a form of escape, and guess where that can take you as a lifestyle habit.

I really don't recommend any drugs, but unless you want to pursue the God way out, no sense killing yourself through legal drugs IMO.

All the best with it. (and may I suggest seeking healing through healing ministries. there are people who will pray for you over things like this - one group that I know of (non-denominational) is the 'healing rooms international'.

Healing Rooms - International Association of Healing Rooms

I had a friend who was a drug addict for most of his life. He was delivered instantly of drugs, smoking and alcholism in a one hour session with a street evangelist (who knew what he was doing.)

PS. From my (limited) but still experience, false visions can be linked to drug use. It is a sin. Although it might not be one of the more obvious ones, God told me to go off the valium (even though I suffered from a severe sleep disorder that could (and would) have killed me,) and just trust him.

I did and I'm still here. But only because he's carried me (and healed me.) He can do it.

Refreshingly honest post.

I've always wanted to try shrooms and I used to smoke pot (which focused me like crazy). I've also tried ecstasy which was not sexual at all. I did experience happiness that I've never experienced before, though. It was fun.

Other people have expressed my opinion on Christian drug outlook so I'll end this with I don't do them...

I believe like you do, that God put plants on this Earth for us to use to experience the wonderful world he has created. What is weird is that laws have made these things illegal- but yet tobacco and alcohol (which do the same things but make you sick and unhealthy) are still legal. Tobacco isn't necessarily as bad if it was pure, but you wouldn't believe the things tobacco companies put in commercial products. Yet weed makes you feel better and is better for you. So strange.

I'm not so sure how I feel about shrooms, but if you do them, I'd suggest it be only on occasion. Those are very strong drugs and being on them for a prolonged period of time would be dangerous.

Tobacco contains nicotine which is a proven cancer causing substance. It's not necessarily the smoke - you can get cancer by using a smoke free inhaler.

Never done shrooms.

Any slightly informed person knows tobacco and alcohol are legal not because "God made them so" but because the first is highly taxed and incredibly physically addictive, and the second can't practically be stamped out, so it too is highly taxed if sold publicly.

I've never heard anyone say (I mean in real life) that they had a physical addiction to things like weed or shrooms.

Hear lots more horror stories from the legal drugs (the ones God supposedly gives His blessing to). And alcohol (it's a drug).
