I used an IOS device (iPhone) to subscribe to Dropbox Plus via automated monthly/credit card payments. After a few payments, I now need to change credit cards. However, I can’t crack the code on how to accomplish this, what with outdated and inaccurate advice on the web.

Dropbox tells me that I need to go to iTunes to modify payments. As best I can make out, the Apple payment function for subscriptions on iTunes was moved moved to “Podcasts”. Sure enough, a description of the Dropbox payments is on Podcasts, along with an option to delete the subscription. But, there is no link to change the current credit card information/add new card information.

With this impasse, can anyone point me to a solution? Thanks.

Have you tried calling Dropbox themselves? It seems like a good option when the net gives you no info. Surely Dropbox can change your card info on your account.

I haven’t. I’m always wary of the “Just give us your card and we’ll take care of it.” But, I think you’re right. I can at least call to learn how to navigate the web on this.

As long as you call Dropbox and not another number you'll be fine. Dropbox is a reliable company I've had an account with them for years. Let us know if calling Dropbox helps. If not I would suggest maybe looking through your Dropbox account settings. I can't see why Dropbox wouldn't have an option to change your credit card. You're right.

Well, I got some resolution, but in the oddest way.

I called Dropbox. They said that because I got Dropbox Plus as an upgrade and not from an initial subscription, I had to contact Apple. Apple gave me all sorts of explanations and links, but nothing worked.

I finally figured out that although the Dropbox is in my name (and I can of course use it on my phone), the Apple payments somehow got tied to my wife’s phone number (even though I am also the primary on our phone service).

I looked at my wife’s phone Settings, and it’s there that I was able to change my Dropbox credit card payment details.

Looks like the Dropbox subscription was made by me, absentmindedly, on my wife’s phone. No harm, no foul—grandkids’ photos intact. How can I go wrong?
