Driving a stick

This question is really geared for the guys:

To me, driving a manual is not a big deal. It's just not. I'm so used to it that I actually have problems when I drive an automatic. But do guys think that's an impressive ability in a woman??? B told me the women he knows only drive automatics (I told him he's just strange) but I'd like feedback from the manly men here too

P.S. I also know what a Phillips screwdriver is too

Personally, I don't think it is a big deal at all. It's something that can be roughly learned in half an hour.

My reaction would be if said be girl would say I can drive a stick is, "Hmm...that is pretty cool. Not something common among women". The only impressiveness about it is the fact that not many women can't or don't do it.

Truth be told, even though I like driving shift and sometimes miss it, she wouldn't gain brownie points. There are other things worth giving brownie points over for me than being able to drive a stick shift car.

I find it impressive if a girl can/does drive a stick. Heck, in the U.S. it's impressive if a guy drives a stick. The real question is do you know what a reed-prince screwdriver is without looking it up?

As much I can't stand the so called sport of driving left hand turns unsafely or as supporters say, 'impressively', the only attractiveness for a girl that races for me would be what she is wearing. Jeans, hoodies and t-shirts, dresses, skirts, shorts, pj's(the list could go on and on) are more sexy anyways.

I like a girl that knows enough to not get taken advantage of. But her being able to drive a stick shift is not in itself very impressive...

Based upon the responses here, it's clear that it depends on whether or not that guy is interested in or attracted to the female because some men are actually impressed that some women know how to drive stick.

Over here we call it a manual car. And I drive a manual and struggle with automatics cuz I always look fornthe gears

over here, it's more something you lack, then something you have- in not being able to drive a manual. It limits your options.
Unfortunately they changed the laws a few years ago so that you have to have a seperate license to drive a manual if you learnt on an automatic.

I give her bonus points for driving a manual. My sister's all know how to drive manual, my brother in law and soon to be brother in law don't know how, and we all find it hilarious.

Somehow a lot of women get the idea that a manual is hard to drive, sure it is something extra to pay attention to while you drive but you're supposed to be the experts in multitasking.

In a country where most people seem to drive an automatic, I guess that would be an impressive thing to discover. Here everyone drives a manual unless they have a reason not to, it's as easy as clutch down, shift gear, clutch up.

Perfectly normal thing where I live, in fact nearly all girls I know, know how to drive a stick, so yeah not something worth bonus points.

Well, I ride a motorcycle, which uses a gear system. Doesn't have a gear lever though. I can drive a manual though, they're significantly more fun than Auto's.
