  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am turning 21 ( the legal drinking age) in the states in under two weeks and am excited that finally I can drink.

I have alcohol occasionally and in moderation, as was common among Christians until the neo-Pietists came along after the invention of the refrigerator and mass transportation, and decided that fermentation must be evil even though it had been essential to the survival of the human race until that point. :p

I'm 19 and have had a few sips of things with family (and ONLY family). A lot of my friends (and even younger) are really into drinking, partying every weekend. I'm not like that and never have been. My weekends in high school were spent at home watching movies, while all of my friends were getting wasted. Just not my thing.

Will I have a drink every once in a while when I am of legal age? Sure. Will I get drunk? Absolutely not.

Trying to get away from the party scene in a college town is harder than I thought, all my friends go out, we usually get drunk...meaning being hungover on Sunday and not going to church and following Gods will...I signed up recently because I looking for support. Not saying I'm a alcoholic but when I do go out it gets out of hand.

My advice, from personal experience: only drink around people who will practice mutual accountability with you. Do not drink alone, and do not drink "socially" if you're tempted to go along with the crowd.
