Hello! I’m new to this group. I’m sorry, but this will be long.

5yrs ago I developed feelings for a coworker, and I’ll call him Luis for now. We talked a lot at work and even ate lunch together. That stopped after I told him I liked him. He didn’t feel the same, so I wanted to distance myself a bit, but we were still on good terms. Before telling him, I started having dreams which I thought didn’t mean anything at first. I write down all my dreams, so I wrote these down anyway.

A few months after working together, a female friend of his begins working there. I’ll call her Lisa for now. I came in one day and was asked by my supervisor to train her. We became friends and she even asked me about Luis. She knew how I felt and that it didn’t work out. I guess they talked about it which seemed a little odd to me. But they had been friends since high school, so I guess they trusted each other. I assumed Lisa was inviting me to confide in her to help. Around that time is when I noticed my dreams may have had a message. Every time I saw Luis it was at work, he was usually being flirty with a female coworker, and both would try to keep it a secret from me. Each one always left me feeling horrrible. I didn’t understand why I was taking it so hard in the dreams. I knew he did not like me and that he was probably interested in the other girls at work. So seeing that in real life shouldn’t be a surprise. I definitely got the sense that I was being warned.

I worked at that job for about a year, then I started working somewhere else. Luis and Lisa continued to work there. I kept in touch with both of them via social media. The dreams didn’t stop and only became more intense. A few months later Lisa told me that she and Luis were no longer speaking. He was angry with her because she began dating someone at the job. I asked if she knew he had feelings for her and she said yes. I brushed it off, but I still wondered why she didn’t tell me. She breaks up with the first guy and shortly after tells me she’s dating someone else. I’m not sure why, but that’s when the meaning of the dreams clicked. I knew she was now with Luis. I also knew that she most likely told him everything that we talked about. Instead of telling me about the relationship directly, they revealed it on Facebook. I said nothing to them about it, I just immediately removed myself. I have a new account now, but I have never tried to contact them. The last time I spoke to them was 3yrs ago and I am sill dreaming about Luis. Earlier this year a friend request from Lisa came, but I realized she had done it by accident and immediately deleted it.

I did take the revelation of them together very hard. It didn’t last long and they are not together now. I thought the dreams would stop, but they didn’t. He keeps appearing except the situations are different from before. I can’t identify the feeling I get from it either like the previous ones. I’ve prayed about it many times. I prayed for God to remove unforgiveness or bitterness from my heart. I prayed that they find Jesus and everything. I’ve gotten a few different opinions on it. Most people blew it off and didn’t take it seriously, because I had feelings for the guy. Some said maybe it means he needs a lot of prayer. Like I said, I first met him 5yrs ago and every year since then I have had dreams about him. I’m hoping that this will not continue to go on, because I dont understand it.

If you write them down you should consider posting the primary ones. Content and symbolism might determine WHY you are having the dreams about him. It could be (as some have said) that God has been and is still calling you to pray for this man. But it could be something more. In fact, considering that you are still having dreams about him, there are two strong likelihoods:
1. The dreams are from God and He is calling you together, or
2. The dreams are from the enemy, who is trying to mislead you into a dating situation that he knows could potentially destroy you emotionally and spiritually.

I would ask the Lord to reveal more about why you continue receiving dreams about him. Make a concerted effort to pray about this incessantly for awhile. The answer will come if you keep asking and seeking.

Thank you so much! This was great advice. When you say consider posting, do you mean uploading a couple of the dreams here for someone to possibly interpret?

Yes. Try posting your most dominant ones from the past, together the recent dream/dreams that inspired you to post this thread. :)

Keep in mind that good interpretation is often found in the details.

Sounds like you're having internal conflict. It was a situation that sounds like there was alot of questions going on. But I don't think its necessarily about the situation itself, but perhaps you're going through things and your dreams are using a past situation to put a visual on a inner conflict you're having now. Its weird, but ive had similar dreams. I'll share one example:

I had a dream about an old flame just hanging out, mind you I haven't talked to him in years and I've gotten over it. But because the past with him involved him cheating, although the dream was positive, the presence of that particular person and what he reminded me of, connected to a feeling I was dealing with recently with a friend that I felt I was losing. Like how i lost the ex through cheating, I was going through a lost of a love one in present time and haven't sort that out, so my dream is projecting that.

I'm not sure what you're goin through now, I would keep praying about it, whether its dealing with that particular situation, or if its a projection of a similar feeling that you may be having conflict with presently. I'll keep you in prayers that you get the peace you are seeking for.

Be encourage, and btw...welcome to CF! :D

Very good. I have a friend who has dreams about past friends all the time. They never end up relating to these people in real life. The people are only a means through which the Lord communicates that certain themes are taking place in his life. He had a girlfriend in high school, and the Lord uses her to communicate that things like filtration or potential temptation are on the horizon.

Only with this here, having similar dreams (if they are similar) about the same person over and over again for years is different. I don't hear that happening very much.

Exactly! This has left me scratching my head, too. I’ve had recurring dreams about past friends before, but they were brief and I usually did have meaningful encounters with them in real life. This situation is definitely strange. If these are from the enemy, I hope I can get an understanding of how to close the door to it.

I will look through my journal and pick out the dreams that stand out the most.

Don't worry. Just keep praying that the Lord reveals to you what's going on and trust him to do so. He'll give you the answer if you keep asking Him for it.

God has done that with me through out my life. He told me He did this to disillusion me so eventually I would settle.

I got a lot out of it, but have not entirely figured out why the consistent disillusionment in love part of it, which seems the whole point.

Not something He is telling me, something I have to figure out on my own.

He did encourage me to keep doing it. That there was a promise there, and not to be attached to this one or that one, but the one yet to be.

The scenarios were complex and often painful. I certainly still love them all, and that provides good memories.
