CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And I thought "wow, yeahhhh, those ARE some KEY characteristics to look for and make sure our mate has."

So, for me now, I'm gonna have those three characteristics to look for definately!
1. Loyalty
2. Kindness
3. A Cheerful giver

Man...seeing these lists makes me want a girlfriend...haha. I wonder when God's time will come for me! I hope it's soon because some of those first lists sounded fantastic...I could so be all of those for some girl..hehe.

I set "qualifications" all the time too but ya know... its funny how we set qualifications in choosing the one we love... yet in the backs of our minds we know that the one we truly love will always be an exception...

With me I think the one qualification is the girl like me for who I am and also not a girl that's desperate for a boyfriend. One time I went out with a girl that was like that and it just didn't feel right. She was still a wonderful girl but it just didn't go right. Plus at the time I was going to college full time and didn't really have time to have a relationship. Nowadays I'd love to have a girlfriend to see what kind of person they are but so far nobody likes me LOL. My best friend that's pretty nice is too old and too old is not good!

I used to have a huge long list of what I wanted in a guy, and then I got what I asked for - and he wasn't what I wanted at all! 
So now my list is pretty short.
1. Loves God
2. Loves me & puts up with my quirkiness
3. It'd be a plus if he can cook, but hey, that's negotiable.
4. NOT ABUSIVE and would not hit me or belittle me
That's pretty much it...the rest is negotiable, but that cooking thing sure would be nice

Wow you guys surely got lots of thing you want in that person.. not a bad thing, but one thing I find is that I WANT TO BE THE BEST HUSBAND MY WIFE CAN POSSIBLY HAVE IN THIS LIFETIME.

Hmm...I would like a guy who is:
Christian-has a strong sense of faith in God and a strong relationship with Him
has a good relationship with his family
has a sense of humor and laughs with me mostly than at me
is intelligent
is interested in life and whats happening in the world
loves to talk a lot (because I sure do)
or maybe loves to listen a lot (because that might work better)
understands me better than anyone else on this earth and knows what to say at the right times
the only physical characteristic that will be on this list is that he must be taller than me though a great smile never hurts
But as one of my friends said once, its not about finding that perfect person to love, its about finding that imperfect person and loving them perfectly.

4. Sweet, gentle, and romantic (okay, that's more than one but they all go together!)

8. Persistant (but not pushy!)

Interesting that everyone here is in their late teens to early twenties....what happens to people when they get older (like me)?
My requirements are usually more general and have to do with character traits. But I'll make a fun list of things I'd like in a future husband.
1. Likes dancing, or a least enough to do it once in a while....
2. Compliments me on my cooking (even though I'm learning and not the best cook)
3. Likes to travel
4. Likes hiking, nature and animals
5. Wants to have a Laborador Retriever, or wouldn't mind having one
6. Wants to live in a medium-sized city
7. Responsible, but likes to have fun and doesn't mind taking small risks every once in a while
8. Loves me more than he loves himself
9. Loves God more than he loves me
10.Wants to have a couple of children but not a whole bunch!
11.Someone who I can talk to about anything and feels the same about me
12. Someone who respects me - my opinions, mind and feelings
13. Someone I admire for his integrity, his strong spiritual example, honesty, humbleness, faithfulness and kindness towards myself and others

Well, I don't intend to get married until 30 as I want to be financially independent so I can send my kids to good schools, take my family on good holidays and generally give them the finer things in life.

1) A serious Christian who lives life according to God's laws
2) Warmhearted and good natured
3) Easygoing and relaxed
4) Pretty-tall and blonde (natural though ) or tall with black hair
5) Shared interests so we can do things together
6) Supportive and extremely loyal
7) Happy and positive and always cheerful.
