  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Draw near....

James 4:8a (NASB)
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.~~~

Hebrews 4:16 (NASB)
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Draw near, says the heart of the God of love, to the objects of His love. To His creatures that He created in His image and likeness, to which He spared not His own Son to secure their salvation. It is to those that would be His, He calls to. To those that would hear, He calls them out of the darkness and misery, the hopelessness and helplessness that they are in themselves.

Draw near, says the God of love for your increase and completion, so the New Birth, the Divine Nature that has been given to be birthed in you might grow and bring in such new life that at present you can not grasp.

Draw near; says the God of love. So that He might show you great wonderful and marvelous things you know not...

All that perplexes you, all that troubles you is settled in My Son. Let Him be your everything let Him be your all,,,,says the God of love to the heart that would hear...I have given you my Son to Whom I have given all things, hear Him, says the God of love.

Draw near; says the God of love so you might know those things that have been given freely in Christ Jesus. So you might know by experience what your salvation in Christ consists of... For in that knowing, is such security, such freedom, such joy.

Draw near; that you might know the Mystery of Christ in you, says the God of love to the heart that would hear.

Draw near; says the God of love with the great and glorious promise of success......

Be blessed all, in Christ, Not me

All that perplexes you, all that troubles you is settled in My Son. Let Him be your everything let Him be your all,,,,says the God of love to the heart that would hear...I have given you my Son to Whom I have given all things, hear Him, says the God of love.

I really like the OP -- God comes across like that, though He can be a bit bolder:

Mat 17:5 ..."This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!

That's the same thing but a bit bolder.

We are called by the Father and the Spirit to listen to the Son, and thus to get to know Him. Now the Son only says and does what the Father asks. And all things the Father has our His, which would include the words of God for you, which the Spirit of God takes from the Son and speaks them to your spirit. The Spirit does not speak on His own initiative but kind of like a living phone line.

John 16:15 All things that the Father has are Mine...
John 16:13 but when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak...
John 16:14 … He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you

So the Father tells us to listen to the Son, which can be done via the Spirit speaking to our spirit, and if you listen you get the words that God has for you personally... you get a deeper relationship with Him.

We indeed have been given the Son, who has the words of God for us, and we pick them up in our spirit.

Jn 6:63 ...the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life

So we should be hearing words in our spirit from the Son via the Spirit and they are words the Son got from the Father.

Those words can be instructions, encouragement, teachings, prophetic, words of knowledge, words of wisdom, but mostly that can be and should be words of a friend of yours who happens to be God... the Son... and He loves you. So it is that the most common thing I hear from Him personally is, "Karl, I love you."

Yet, while the most common thing I hear from Him is 'I love you', He of course talks to me and anything and everything. He can tell you what lane of the freeway to be in or He can tell you that the person over there has a bad stomach and you need to pray for them. Yesterday I started picking up in my spirit that the soccer team my son coaches was going to loose, but as soon as I started picking that up I told Him I didn't want to know, because I wanted to watch the game, which I thought would be a good but tough game. It shouldn't have been. My son's team had out shot the other team 11-2 at one point but they kept missing. They hit the crossbar twice, the post once, and lost the game 2-1. Well, afterwards I knew He had told me and He has His reasons. It is important to win some and loose some. It keeps you humble. The Lord can do that... keep you humble.

Again - I liked the OP. It tells people to listen to Him, though not so much about listening to Him, so I thought I might add a bit about listening to Him. He once told me:

"Like instructions are given to servants, jokes to friends, wisdom to sons, so 'I love you' is said to a bride"

We serve Him, so we need to listen. He should be our friend so that we have friendly conversations with Him. He will treat you like His son, and give you wisdom. And we the church should be like His bride and hear those words 'I love you' from Him. If we are not hearing those things, are we listening to Him as commanded, and requested, by the Father?

Thank you for appreciating my post and your words.

Many blessings, as we draw near to Him that we might listen the more, to the end that we might be conformed to Him in all things.

Blessings in Christ, Not me
