Two days till the most anticipated RPG of the year comes out. It's already gone gold from preorders. I ended up getting the Collectors Edition for PC. They are already going on about modding the heck out of the game with addon packs, new content, and new player made quests. I can't wait! :D

1. Going Gold in this case referred to the point in time at which the final version of the game was set and sent off to be mass-produced in preparation for release day.

2. I also can't wait to immerse myself in the awesomeness that is DA:O. I have my PC version sitting on the couch next to me but my crummy school laptop can't run it. Will have to wait 'til Christmas break when I can go home and enjoy it on my lovely gaming laptop. Seeing everybody on the forums already raving about how much they love the game is pure torture.

*Goes off to sulk in a corner of the thread while working on finishing her third runthrough of Dragon Age Journeys to get all the unlocks*

I spent all yesterday playing. It's certainly a different format than I'm use to playing, being that it's not in typical 1st/3rd person shooter mode like most RPGs come out in now days. I think my biggest complaint about the control system now that I've gotten use to it is the inability to jump. Learning to attack also takes a bit of skill as things tend to move very quickly in battle.

People are having a lot of issues with the unlocks right now, as expected as always. I've managed to get a couple to work, but I still don't have my blood armour working or a couple of the other rings and such... or the Shale thing. :\

Well, there's a view similar to the third-person shooter mode, but yes, the top-down view you can have in Dragon Age has gone out of style. I take it you're not a veteran of the Baldur's Gate series?

The jumping is just one of those things Bioware doesn't do. I can live with it. As for the unlocks, I'm sure Bioware is working to get them up and running ASAP. I guess that's one of the good things of not playing right after release... there's time for some of the major kinks to be ironed out. I think this will be a good lesson for Bioware for when they launch SW:TOR... hopefully they'll learn from what has happened.

I play this game like it is a chore. The same way I played Fallout 3 and Oblivion. I made sure I didn't make any mistakes. I've saved and reloaded countless times just to get better steals or loot. I reload any battle in which a character falls basically.

I'm probably not playing the game the way it was meant to be played and that is to just do things and not look back.

I don't know why I make myself so OCD with certain games. I always have to be the best... Great game though. I probably need to borrow my friends internet connection though so I can download the latest patch. There's definitely been a few bugs.

I'm getting ready to start again. Beat it the first time, now there are a bunch of mods in development and some look very promising. Gotta level up to be able to handle em.

I'll be doing some voice acting on some of the larger mods coming out as well. :)

Ooh fun! I'm about to try to make a couple minor mods myself. One is a difficulty mod to make a difficulty somewhere between normal and hard and another is just to give Alistair a Warden's Oath amulet like the one the main character gets. Other than that, I'm just starting my first playthrough of the original game so I'll probably do at least two or three more before I start looking at mods. Right now I'm in Lothering.
