I would go to your pastor. There is also Scripture and prayer, which I would rely on first and foremost.

I would not rely on "secular" books on the subject, as they do not take into account spiritual matters and Biblical concepts regarding marriage. I would suggest going to a local Christian bookstore and checking out their counseling section. Lifeway has a lot of books on the subject.

God bless you,
Dave

First and foremost, I'd recommend the Bible.

Right now I'm reading a book that deals with all sorts of abuse, "Beauty For Ashes." It's hits a lot of points home with me. It's by Joyce Meyer, and she references a lot of scripture in the book. She does put her own emphasis in the scripture (to make it more clear for some???), although I don't like it and block that out or will have the Bible next to me and look it up myself instead of reading right out of the book.

Also...look them up on the internet...there are bound to be many...and some other books to check out might be depression books..I'm not saying that you are dealing with depression, but a lot of what is said in depression books can be related to other forms of psychological trauma and problems and can really be helpful to anyone.

Also...books by Brennan Manning, most specifically "Abba's Child," are very helpful...this specific one talks about the love of Christ and it can be the most theraputic thing ever.
