Dr. Kent Hovind has good education, I don't think it would be too hard for him find a good job...
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, that's rich. He has a doctorate from Patriot University, which is a diploma mill. A diploma mill, by the way, is a place that awards degrees not for knowledge, but because you bought one.

Don't believe me? Feel free to read Dr. Dino's "dissertation", which is written so poorly that any competant high schooler would be ashamed of it, or better yet review the "courses" and "course requirements" at Patriot University's website.

I learned more math in a single class in college then they require for the whole of their "math degree".

Francie, talk to me a minute.  When have I put your beliefs down?

God created the earth and every thing in it includung all of you

Francie, cogratutations!  You agree with Darwin! This isn't a discussion of whether God created. In this Christian forum, we all accept that God did as part of the discussion.  What we are discussing how God created everything including us.  Did God just speak and humans appeared from nothing?  Did this happen 6,000 years ago?

OR, and listen carefully, Francie, did God create the universe by the Big Bang, galaxies, stars, and planets by gravity, life by chemistry, and the diversity of life, including us, by evolution?

It's the way God created that is discussed.

As a way that God created, evolution is not a lie.  It is based on the evidence God placed in His Creation that we could figure out when we were ready.  In the meantime, God gave Hebrews and Christians the Bible to tell humans about Himself and how He wants to interact with humans.

I thought science was based on creative writing and how good of a story you can tell about the so called evidence that you produce. People then decide how believable your story is, even if it is a product of your imagination.

Good grief. I take it you don't bother to depend on medical science when you get sick, then, on account of it's all just a bunch of creative writing and imagination. Or do you maybe get the X rays and blood tests done, have the surgery, take the medication, go through the therapy, and then turn round and praise Jesus and ignore the contributions of medical science? That does seem to be rather prevalent among believers. I suppose there's some excellent reason why it really isn't rank hypocrisy.

How can anyone be a christian an not beleive in creationism?

Extract from an article by the Rt. Revd. Richard Harries, Anglican Bishop of Oxford:

"First, the theory of evolution, far from undermining faith, deepens it._ This was quickly seen by Frederick Temple, later Archbishop of Canterbury, who said that God doesn't just make the world, he does something even more wonderful, he makes the world make itself._ God has given creation a real independence and the miraculous fact is that working in relation to this independent life God has, as it were, woven creation from the bottom upwards: with matter giving rise to life and life giving rise to conscious reflective existence in the likes of you and me._ The fact that the universe probably began about 12 billion years ago with life beginning to evolve about 3 billion years ago simply underlines the extraordinary detailed, persistent, patience of the divine creator spirit."

Extract of a letter written to the Prime Minister by a group of several Anglican bishops and one Catholic bishop, along with some of Britain's most eminent scientists:

"Evolution is a scientific theory of great explanatory power, able to account for a wide range of phenomena in a number of disciplines. It can be refined, confirmed and even radically altered by attention to evidence.
It is not, as spokesmen for the college maintain, a “faith position” in the same category as the biblical account of creation which has a different function and purpose."

Signers include The Rt Revd Richard Harries, Bishop of Oxford; The Rt Revd Christopher Herbert, Bishop of St Albans; The Rt Revd John Oliver, Bishop of Hereford; The Rt Revd Mark Santer, Bishop of Birmingham; The Rt Revd Thomas Butler, Bishop of Southwark; The Rt Revd Kenneth Stevenson, Bishop of Portsmouth; andThe Rt Revd Crispian Hollis, Roman Catholic Bishop of Portsmouth.

Would you like to confirm your opinion that these gentlemen are all non-Christians?

Medicine is a little bit different type of creativity. Their challange is to streatch out the placebo effect from one third of the people to two thirds of the people.

Yeah, I think john needs to learn the fine art of using smillies:

Just shove them into your posts, especially when you make a joke.

Maybe, actually I do not think that the atrocious commited in the name of medicine is funny at all. But I was trying to keep the thread lite and not get into a heavy discussion on it.

I am still holding myself back from hitting the medical establishment with both barrels.
