  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've seen them. I like them. Of course all the athiests here will try to debunc him, but you wont see any of them offering to debate him because they know they have no truly scientific evidence for evolution.

Hehe, oh, man, that's a good one.

Thing is, it's Hovind who refuses to debate, unless in front of an audience. Why don't you ask him why he doesn't engage in written debates?

Did anyone watch that Ali G episode with Kent Hovind? I heard it was very funny.

Anyway, Kent Hovind seems to be very intellectually dishonest and uses many anti-evolution arguments that have been seriously debunked beyond recognition, even when debunked he still uses them (psst false witness!)! He even uses the moon dust theory...Or was that anotha Kreationist?

Hm, I think most people here have been introduced to Mr. Hovind. His videos might be exiting to watch (I haven't seen any of then personally) but I would take their "scientific" content with more than a medium sized grain of salt. My advice would be to not get too attached to people like Hovind. It can be quite traumatic to find out that people you might have trusted to tell you the truth have lied to you. Have a look at what a former YEC have to say about it here:

www-glenn-morton-btinternet-co-uk/transform-htm

(since I'm not allowed to post URL's yet, please replave the '-' with '.')

Here's a little excerpt:
Being through with creationism, I was almost through with Christianity. I was thoroughly indoctrinated to believe that if the earth were not young and the flood not global, then the Bible was false. I was on the very verge of becoming an atheist. During that time, I re-read a book I had reviewed prior to its publication. It was Alan Hayward's Creation/Evolution (Triangle, 1985). Although I had reviewed it prior to its publication in 1985, I hadn't been ready for the views he expressed. He presented a wonderful "Days of Proclamation" view which pulled me back from the edge of atheism. Although I believe Alan applied it to the earth in an unworkable fashion, applied differently, his view had the power to unite the data with the Scripture. That is what I have done with my views. Without that I would now be an atheist. There is much in Alan's book I agree with and disagree with, but his book was very important in keeping me in the faith. While his book may not have changed the debate totally, it did change my life.
It was my lack of knowledge that allowed me to go along willingly and become a young-earth creationist. It was isolation from contradictory data, a fear of contradictory data and a strong belief in the young-earth interpretation that kept me there for a long time. The biggest lesson I have learned in this journey is to read the works of those with whom you disagree. God is not afraid of the data.

Other people haven't been as "lucky" as Glenn Morton after finding out they been lied to.

I'd bet you could get no less than 15 people who would be perfectly willing to debate him right here at good ole Christianforums.  He shouldn't have a problem with that since he links to this board from his site and it's run by Christians.  Why don't you email "Dr." Hovind and invite him to debate someone here.  I'll look forward to the response you get.

But that's not all, ramses. If you act within the next 30 minutes, you'll get not one, but *two* warm fuzzy feelings. In retail stores you may find other products advertised for $150, $200, even $500. But for a limited time, you can have all of this for the low, low price of your immortal soul. Act now! Quantities limited!

Offer not valid in all states. Void where prohibited.

I've been wanting to see that (although being in Canada I don't get the Ali G show; it's on HBO right?). Maybe I can download a clip somewhere...

Yeah. As you can see quite a few people have heard of him.

I would gladly debate him. :)

Even other creationist groups (like AIG) are against DrDino.

He is dishonest. But he seems to be good for a laugh.

My favorite two claims that he makes are in his FAQ.

First is where he claims that not only does speciation (scientific Macro evolution) happen, but that it takes less than a couple thousand years to happen.

Second is his claim that Bar Codes all contain the numbers 666 in them (one 6 at the begining, one in the middle and one at the end) when they dont really.

So I would say, if you are looking for real information, to look somewhere else.

Add me to the list of people who would be happy to debate him in a clean, written format. I'll even extend the challenge and say I'll take him on his own website - Doesn't even have to be here! :)

The entire population of Infidels.org will be happy to volunteer as well, I'm certain. If ya'll can get "Dr" Dino to debate in a written format, I'll have people lined up around Long Island ready to take him on.

The man is a fraud. If you'd just like some evidence of that, post some of the his arguments here again. I'm sure the kind, rational people here will be happy to hand him his head and deconstruct every argument the man puts forward.

In the meanwhile, I think I'll start up a website offerring 'exciting' videos about the difficult art of properly worshipping Neodarwinism and the Gods of Science. All my videos come with a sugar cube and a half-dozen sea monkeys.
