  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In life many roads we travel everyday
some twist and turn then go the other way.
I could travel down the road and try to make it on my own
but I’d quickly lose my way and path that I had known.
Without Jesus I am nothing, I have no strength at all,
He’s the one who guides my way and helps me when I fall.
Without Jesus I couldn’t make it for He’s the One I need,
He straightens up the road ahead then helps me to proceed.

Down the road without out Jesus, I don’t think I’ll try,
even if the road is straight and I know I could get by.
Without Jesus by my side is the worst place I could be,
to face life without Jesus would be a foolish thing for me.
He‘s my strength when I am weak, my protector and my guide
and when I’m feeling sad and down in His arms I hide.
There’s no place but by Jesus, it’s the best place I could be
and if you keep Him by your side I know that you’ll agree.

Facing life without Jesus is just days filled with pain
and when you think it’s over the pain just starts again.
There is no one who can help you cause you’ve pushed Jesus away
and without Jesus you’ll keep struggling day after day.
He’s the One you need and He’s waiting just for You,
He longs for you to call on Him then He’ll help you get through.
He’ll take away your broken heart; joy will fill your soul,
for He loves you and He longs to fill your life and make it whole.

Down the road without Jesus, that’s one thing I won’t try,
even when the road is straight and I know I could get by.
I won’t face it without Jesus, cause He’s the best for me
cause I know Jesus with me is the way that it should be.
I know that Jesus loves me for He died to save my soul,
no other love can wash away my sins and make me whole.
So I’ll face my life with Jesus, I’m right where I should be,
cause going down the road with Jesus is the only way for me.

I like this, SoBlessed! Especially meaningful to me is the above phrase, the part "I KNOW I could get by"...

I used to not even think about it; I was sure that I could do all things -- by myself...

I was a Christian, and God blessed me every day and kept me safe, but Satan did finally knock me down a few pegs.

I realized then that I was nothing without Christ. He breathed life into me and called my name from the womb, created a perfect earth for me to live in and gave me this life that I now live by faith.

Now when I see those who are certain they can make it, can "get by" on their own, I pray for their wisdom to learn things easily and not the hard way - like I did!

Praise God I learned, but next time? I'm going the easy way, not the hard way!

"Apart from Him I can do nothing".

Peace!
