There is no doomsday, the world goes on forever! If they were to equate doomsday with Armageddon, this is a battle that is stopped before its conclusion as outlined in scripture. But there is no “The Day After” (movie), global warming doom or ELE meteors, this is just fear mongering to social engineer their agendas into societies thinking. The same think tankers would try to push the hands of the doomsday clock forward twenty-thousand years if it were renamed the Jesus returns clock, but that clock is closer to midnight than they think.

I thinks is just a political tactic from the dems. We don't need a clock to tell us there is too much termoil. We can just tune to the Fox News Channel.

Oh jeez... we now know how objective you are.

For quite a while I thought the doomsday thing was just a figure of speech...I didn't realise there was actually a board of people that set the time. Then later I had dark imaginings of men in black robes sitting with a huge black clock behind them, changing the time on a regular basis. :D

Anyway, it seems about as much use as watching kids running out in front of traffic and estimating the probability they'll get hit. Still, I suppose someone has to point out what we're likely to do to ourselves.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a treaty that said we had to stop making more nuclear weapons and try to arrange total disarmament of all the ones we do have? We could call it the non-proliferation treaty...

We've been closer to midnight than we are now, and we've turned the clock back afterward. This isn't necessarily something to worry about.

I agree, but I wouldn't say it isn't something to worry about. I think the whole situation over the last 60-odd years is something to be deeply worried about. Maybe it's not at its worst but surely it's still pretty bad?

It's like your credit score. You are watched, evaluated, and given a ranking on how you have managed your money and your probable present situation. Sure, you might never take a loan for a car or house or take out a credit card, in which case, you might think the credit score is stupid and unnecesary.

The sun will be changed along with the Earth, I suspect that this will happen after the 1000 year reign of Christ (literally in person)... which is just the beginning of His kingdom reign. If God can manage to change the bodies of those that trusted in Him, to grant them incorruptibility by His power, so is His power adequate (and more so) to uncorrupt all of creation in His appointed time. The Earth will "pass away" yes, but do not people as well? The Earth and all/most of creation will be changed (excluding that which is in the lake of fire which yet goes on forever as well but in corruption) though this change (regarding Earth being changed) will not happen until the end of the literal millennial reign of Christ which has not started as of yet.

When they speak of “doomsday” they are not referring to this that I mention at all, that is something else entirely as if the Earth were transformed into a Mars like planet where no life presides, ...yes until the sun burns out and the shattered remains of Earth some day orbit around some other sun as a comet. This is absolutely contrary to all scripture, scripture which has proven its validity with fulfilling prophecy for it was dictated to the writers of the scriptures what God told them directly of the things to come. Not only is it a done deal as far as God is concerned, for He is there and here now, but he made promises and everlasting covenants that it be so.
