Without a doubt, HL2 will be the better game. It will be more immersive and the plot will be more engaging. Have you seen some of the clips from E3? WOW!

I didn't forget Quake IV. The reason I only put HL2 and Doom II is becasue they are both supposed to come out at the same time. I'm not 100% sure when Quake is coming out.

Chalk another one up for HL2, doom3 just doesnt have the appeal, they lost way too much hype without releasing multiplayer info early, not much talk about mods (read: HL2 will be a MOD KING!!!!) and the fact that the movies from doom3 were impressive like a year ago, but the more recent half life 2 absolutley mind jabs it into outer space

It's hard for me to get exited about a game I can't play on my riggety old system.

I have to agree with that last post though... partially. The real original originator was a predeseccor of Doom's predeseccor (wolvenstein 3d). On that note; the followup of wolvenstein3d sucked i.m.o.

Well this pretty much proves my theory that Half-life is the true king of FPS. Only one person voted for Doom III. I should submit these results to ID lol. I've never actually seen any of the movies for Doom III though it's supposed to have better graphics than HL2 but I find that hard to believe.

I don't care as much about graphics. The first Half Life was on par with the graphics at that time. It was the gameplay that made it so much fun and the intelligence of the enemies.

This is what will make HL2 another instant classic. The gameplay and intelligence of the computer opponents.

Just ordered a 512 meg upgrade for my PC in preparation for HL2

I cannot WAIT for this game to come out.

I should hope I can now max out the graphics on it with a 2.4 gig proc., 756 megs 333 mhz DDR memory, and a GeForce with 128 meg DDR memory.

I'm pretty sure they aren't real people Michael, but maybe you have a hard time differentiating between reality and fantasy. So you should probably stay away from such games.
