Doom 3 Should i play it????????

Doom 3 was a let down... very repetitive too... the demons like to "surprise" you by hiding and attacking you from behind. Sure it gives you a fright the first couple of times...

Couldn't even be bothered finishing Doom3

Doom 3 Was Not a let down only reason why it was a let down cause you probably why it was let down to you cause your a chicken Doom 3 is a great peice of art YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY HATE THE PLAYER NOT THE GAME!!!!!!

By the way, Doom III is a piece of garbage in my opinion, the graphics are horrible but for the lighting, and it's boring, silly, etc. etc.

Doom III, though in your opinon was garbage, was in fact a great game. You have to be playing with your eyes closed (undoubtedly out of fear) to think the graphics and lighting are bad.

Though I didn't like Half Life 2 and Far Cry, it's no doubt they're great games. Same goes for Doom III. Except, I loved Doom III. You've got a long way to come to be a true gamer.

I never said the lighting was poor, the lighting was excellent, which is the extent of the graphical quality.
I have to say that the general consensus on gaming forums is that Doom III was a piece of garbage that ID used as a tech demo.
And on a related note:
Liking Doom III != being a true gamer
The fact that one likes/dislikes a certain game doesn't make one a true gamer.
But this raises the question:

Sorry, the poor grammar confused me.

Anyway, it takes alot to be a true gamer. But not being able to see that Doom III's graphics arn't fantastic, doesn't help.

If you are into the survival horror genre, I suggest you give it a definite rental, but frankly games like that scare the tar out of me. You may want to seriously look in Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube as well. Fantastic Title.

It also bears repeating that the Xbox version of Doom 3 is a very stripped down PC port. It's still good, but for the best experience you need a PC that is state of the art.

Yeah, but I can only afford so many toys. Thus for budget concerns I bought the xbox version. The funny thing is I got the special edition and have spent more time on classic doom than doom3.

I've played it and I am not sure how to answer your question. If you think you shouldn't play it then don't. I don't think that I will be playing it on a regular basis, perhaps only multiplayer, but I wouldn't buy it.

To the OP: forget about the demons and stuff. Don't play it because it's a glorified tech demo. Great graphics, but they forgot to include the game. Hopefully some team is using the engine as we speak to make something fun with it.
