Sunday school is good, but don't leave your kids' spiritual education to Sunday school teachers. A lot of parents just send their kids to Sunday school. Let's never forget that Deu. 6 says the spiritual education of children rests on parents alone. On parents alone. Dads and moms should not only have real bible studies with their kids at home regularly, they should set a good example living out bible truths daily.

Very much agreed. This is harder when only one parent is a believer, but possibly even more important. My son is only 8 months, but he has gotten used to seeing me pray & read the Bible and have devotions daily, and I want to do family prayer & devotions with him as he is old enough (for now, I read him a story from the children's Bible each day - he's probably too young to really understand, but it's getting him into the habit). We also attend a church where most parents have their children with them in the service, so he is growing up hearing the gospel preached weekly.

Our daughters not only go to Sunday school, they see their father and me go to Adult Sunday School. We have after-dinner family devotionals almost every night, and bring up God in normal conversations. It takes more than just teaching your children about God...you've got to SHOW them by trying to LIVE it every day. I'm not saying we always succeed, but we certainly try.

(What helps is that our younger daughter's Sunday School teacher is also our older daughter's Godmother.) :)
