• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I can hang in there!!!! My 21 year old daughter just had me in tears, not in front of her. She told me that I am a liar and this BP I have is just an excuse for anything.
See, she is naive, very, she thinks that because I take physc meds that I'm a druggie. That was like putting a knife through my heart!!!She is very stubborn and is very set in her ways. She doesn't have a clue about BP nor does she want to.
Well, I can't go on. I have to go
Love and Blesses to you all!!!

I have a 20 yr old step-daughter who knows everything too. Very frustrating. She lived with us up until a year ago and I finally had to tell her that there were just some subjects that were off limits for us to discuss because it always caused an arguement. Seems to me that the teen angst phase doesn't really end as soon as a child hits 20. It goes well into the 20's. I'll be praying for you both.

Dear Zita123

She is young but that doesn't excuse her from following GOD'S WORD.

If she does not respect GOD you cannot expect her to respect you.

FORGIVE, FORGIVE, FORGIVE!!!

When the time is right talk to her and let her know where she is wrong.

Dear, children can cut us to the bone quicker and deeper than anyone. But know in her heart she has a love for you like no other.

EVEN WHEN THIS HAPPENS REMEMBER:

X Even though you can't see him, GOD is there!!! O
( click on the x and drag to the O ) ( then see who is with you ) steven

Dear Zita,

Our children can be so mean at times. I know my 17 and 18 yr old boys can be 'knife thru the heart' down right mean :sigh:  My oldest refuses to accept that his Mom has struggles due to a mental disease. He surely doesn't want any of his friends to find out. If I'm having a bad day, he asks, (and not in a kind way) "Ya take your drugs Mom" ??? I've told him if he wants to really understand what his Mom is going thru to check into it. He has 'better' things to do with his time. As long as he gets his way...he doesn't care what shape I'm in.

It does hurt Zita. I just go into another room and  till I can't anymore. :sigh:

My heart goes out to you

 s & :prayer: s,
Wendy

Sue one of my children also finds it hard to forgive me for being sick. It is hard when this happens. Please hold onto God's love for you and know that our children (or anybody else who hasn't got our illness) cannot know what a terrible things we must go through.

On my car keys I have a keyring that says, "Ask a teenager now while they still know everything' :sigh:. Zita, I agree with wonderwaleye:

I pray that one day your daughter will realise that what is out of sight is not always out of mind. BPD is very real, however is it possible that she does not want to research this because she's worried that if she does, she'll have to accept that there is no quick way to fix what her mother is going through. I'm really not making excuses though - just know that I'm praying for you and your daughter in this .
I think they start maturing around age 25!!!!
Oh golly...it seems I've got a way to go yet. :)
