Well I'm not ashamed of my age. That would really be silly wouldn't it? I would hope people would view me different not because of age but because of qualities that make me unique just like the rest of us.

I just wasn't sure what to post. I am also trying to get used to this new forum set up. I was one of those wiped out with the crash so I had to reup and all that stuff.

I'm sure we'll get to it as soon as everyone gets settled in again.

I turned 71 last April. I thank God for all the experiences (both good and bad) I have had and the wisdom He has given me through them. I still have much to learn and our 16 year old friend, or anyone of any age for that matter, should realize one is never through learning.

I would not want to be a young person today as, generally speaking, they seem hopeless and confused. I lay the responsibility for this at the feet of today's parents and Satan working through the media.

I believe I am viewed differently by young people simply because they are young people and can't believe someone of my age is still in the loop.

I wouldn't say I am ashamed of my age, I just turned 50 in May. I've gotten some kidding at home and at work about it. I think I am respected for my experience at work. (I've been there 18 years). I wish the spammers didn't know my age though. I'm always deleting e-mails advertising viagra or some such thing

i admire older people. i really do! They have so much more wisdom than and 18 year old like me and have experienced so much. I hope to live well into my 80s and have a huge story to tell. Maybe im weird but i love being young, but i have no experience, i want to be old, have experience look back on it and go WOW!!! thats what life is all about! sharing experiences and brining people to Christ.!

Hey, I am one of the graybeards, I check in at 50, 20 years on the wrong side of trust, when I was a kid the saying was never trust anyone over 30. My generation has a different read on things like war as we grew up with Viet Nam, and most of my generation knows of folks that never came back. We tend toward being doves with good reason.

Anyway.

Is anyone here "embarrassed" about being 50+ years old? Do you think people view you differently? Why?

I am always on the look-out for the "Timothies" of the faith.
Additionally, I am always on the look-out for the elders of the faith.

I can attest to the fact that God is long-suffering. I feel like he has suffered long with me. I can look back on a 20+ year period of time and see how he was faithful to me when I was not as faithful to him. 20 years is a long time to me, but it must be (sort of) a "split-second" for him. He taught me in a real and solid way what long-suffering really is.

That very thing teaches me what mercy (compassion) is for my fellow brothers and sisters who aren't where I think they should be in the faith.

When I am ready to "give up" on them and count them as a lost cause, I realize that God never gave up on me nor will he give up on them. It changes my mind and I hang in there.

My name is Goldy and I'm years old.Believe me I love every moment and day.God only promised us years and anything over that was and added blessing.I walk Miles everyday and bike Miles more in the evenings.I have a dog and he is my best friend. My God is my life and I enjoy life. It's nice not to have to work and get up in the morning and have coffee read the bible and get to my computer. The best things in life God gave it to us All we have to do is live by His word and they will come. Some times I long for human companionship but this soon passes and I find other things to do.So if you are getting pass 50 be thankful and not ashamed because He might take it from you.One added blessing God gave us spell-check .See how I wrote this without a mistake?

I am not ashamed or embarrassed about my age. I would not want to be a young person in today's world either. No, I'll just keep my memories and all that God has brought me through as a reminder of how much He loves me. He would certainly have to love me in order to be able to keep His promise to never leave me or forsake me. I have been a wayward child!!!!!!!! I have learned that we can obtain knowledge many different ways. Wisdom is a gift God gives to us.

I don't have a problem admitting that I'll be 52 this year. My two older siblings are unhappy with me because I don't have much grey hair--they're both grey!

I do a lot of volunteer work with the youth at church and sometimes they are amazed to find out how old I really am! (they usually think I'm younger).

I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up!

I spent over half of my adult life in sin and God was so gracious to give me a second chance to serve Him. So being almost 54 is nothing to be ashamed of when you have God in your life. It just means that I am just that much closer to spending an eternity with my Heavenly Father. I just want to work that much harder for God's Kingdom.

I just turned 50 on June 30th...and I also got some kidding from my family and co-workers. My 2 sons snuck into my office while I was at work and decorated with streamers and black balloons - I couldn't even walk through it!!! But I feel like I did when I was 30. Except for when I try to DO what I did at 30!!!
