I am happy to say that I will be 54 years young in November. Looking forward to the summer months. We are as old as we think. I feel a young 53 and feeding my mind and soul with our wonderful Father.

Let us get up and clap our hands...

Let us thank our Father for the young age of 50 +

Life really took off for me at 50, four years ago. I developed talents for digital art and poetry. I had been raising my children ,3 birth daughters and two adopted sons with special needs, and supporting my husband with his career and the three extra degress he did after we were married. Suddenly I woke up one day and wondered what the heck I had done for myself! Don't get me wrong, I love my family and would do anything for them, but it is also imprtant to be a person in one's own right, not just your husband's wife, kid's mother and grandchildren's granny. People know me by my name now and it gives me a thrill when the phone rings and it is for me in my capacity as me the person and not the adjunct to the family!

Hi dude.
I'm 58 this year, I try to remember some of the things I thought when I was a teenager. (not too hard) Caus youth of today are going through much of what I did. Only some of the culture has changed.
Sometimes my mind tries to tell me I could still play football, but my body says " don't be so foolish. Sometimes my body is wiser than my mind!
I went off the rails and into the gutter for a few years. Most oldies have done something similar, to a lesser or greater degree.
Older people think of what you have been through, that's pretty much what other oldies are, or have gone through.

Well, being 14 and quite inexperienced in life, listening to all these olderly (notice I didn't say elderly ) people talking, I've realized that life is VERY short. I imagined myself at 71 typing something like what I've read above.... if I could say somethign to the old people, it would be that they shouldn't mellow out until they've left a mark on the younger ones. And what could possible unite the young and old, rich and poor, smart and the [not so smart]??? Try Christ. Wisdom comes with age, but where does anything of ours go when we die? A christian would have hopefully done stuff for Christ so as to put their investment in Heaven, and it would seem a good way to serve Him by sharing things they learned with their age to the kiddies. I think the time of life old people are in should be the time they leave a mark, wrap up their life and serve God as best they can. If they feel obligated to keep their work alive, I would recommend the deeply-in-need-of-wisdomed field of youth work. What happens there grows up and shares itself and grows up again.
But that's just me.

Soon to be 54 and love it!!!!!!

Hey! Mistertee. I'm new to the site and also soon to be 54 (July 24).
God placed me in situations over the years that i had me falling at the feet of my maker. I hope younger ones don't have to share the same experience to get their attention. The 1950 Geezer is an excellent model!

I don't know if this is the right place to go for advice but I felt as though I could trust christian advice. I'm a 66 year old retired electrician.
Wow have I been pooping! they are grey and large but very solid. I have had two white ones recently. After the pure white poops I discharge a bit of blood, and it hurts immensely to urinate. I wonder if it is caused by stress or diet? what do you think?
Oh also the white ones have a strange metalic odor, one was brown with some/mostly white parts. The other was solid white.

I'm embarrassed about being 51. I have a young personality and it doesn't match it. I'm silly and naive. I can't help it. When I talk on forums, folks think I'm a kid. This embarrasses me. I don't know what to do about it. If I try to act sophisticated it doesn't work for me because it's not me.

And my voice is young, too. Folks still call here and ask if my mommy is at home.

I think being a Christian adds to this youthful impression. I don't use foul language or participate in unclean discussions. People mistake this for youth too for some reason.

I think being embarrassed about one's age might also be related to if one is satisfied with her life or if she feels she's missing something.

I think if I could jump start my free-lance graphic artist business, I wouldn't care if I were 100! (No offense to those here who are 100!)

I am 51 years old. I wonder where all the time went. There are things I planned to do when I was in my 20s. Then life happened, and here I am wondering what happened to my dreams and expectations. But God has been good to me and I praise Him for His provisions.

I'm 14. It's hard, because nobody wants to listen. But I hope everyone will remember, no matter how young or how old, that the best is yet to come! You might be 99, wonder where it all went, but no matter what, there is always time for you and a place for you in God's kingdom!

AMEN!!! When ppl get older, they tend to think about death more, but death is only birth into new, eternal life where we'll never get old or sick! Every day brings us closer to death, it's true, but death brings us to new life with Jesus Himself! Don't be afraid!

You cannot BELIEVE what an encouragement it has been to read through this thread! When my husband turned 50 almost 2 years ago, I honestly grieved several days (being married to an OLD MAN!) And I've been buffering my own approaching date with it for months now ("I'm almost a half century old) All so silly, really . . in so many ways, I'm happier than I've ever been, far more creative and actually in some ways, more fun and youthful than I have been in decades . . No, not all of the things surrounding aging are nice, but there are a few benefits, and with everyone's words ringing in my ears, I will seek those positives I can discover and find joy in this stage of life as well . .

THANKS!

You are really only as old as you feel.
consider this thought, although don't dwell on it too long.
Some time in the middle of the last century we were born; wow!
