  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Once again. One more text that you strongly believe that is supporting you but is saying exactly what I say.

Jesus is teaching to help the next. Who is the next? In that story the next happens to be a samaritan. Jesus say that the samaritan being the next, did help the next that he found in his road. Pay atention. The samaritanian who is the next, did not help anybody but the next infront of him, in his road, in his way.

We are suposed to help mour next, independetn is he is black, uruguayan, old, woman or millonaire. We have to help the nex, or brothers, but only the brother in our road, infront of us, those nbrother comming to us.

If you dont agree, replay.
If you poitn ot other text, my explanation will stand as final.

Of course, I don't agree. But, I don't think that you are going to consider anything that anyone has to say to you on the topic. So, I will leave you with my prayers that you will one day understand the depth, height, and width of the love of Christ.

As I was saying, there is not a single verse saying that givig is the core of christian life. According to the strong and solid biblical evidence disscused here it is out of questions - and nobody has say otherwise - that christian giving (money, help, asistance, time) is only in favor of other christians alone and only when it is really needed, not all the time.

Now I have news for you, the deep, height and with of Christ love is mesured in Him going to the cross to provide redemtion for all mankind. Any other from of love as giving one coin to a begger or providing roof for the homless is way to shallow, low and narrow way of loving. If I gain all the world and loose my soul....if you give all someone need and he loses his soul; you gived nothing.

That is the true of God love in the Bible.

I hope yall are donating. If all you gave was 20 dollars, that would be enough for 20 sacks of potatoes, or a pack of chicks, and if EVERYONE Donates at least 20 dollars, then that adds up to thousands if not millions of dollars. in this country, I find it VERY hard to believe that someone doesn't have 20 dollars to spare.

which isn't to say you shouldn't donate MORE then 20 dollars, but whatever. it's your money.

Thank you for reminding us what a big difference the Church can make when we give even a little of ourselves and our resources to share the love of Christ with others.

Scripture is perfectly clear that we are to share what we have been given with those less fortunate than ourselves. It is sad to think that this would even be questioned by anyone who identifies as a follower of Jesus.

Why not? Am I wrong? Do you loves me? Do you follow Jesus teaching?
If I amwrong and you love me, and you follow Jesus teaches, then you have not choise but correctme in love with the sword of the Bible. If you quit is either because you dont care for me, or because you have run out of verses suporting your wrong position.

James 2:15, 16 "If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, yet a certain one of YOU says to them: “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but YOU do not give them the necessities for [their] body, of what benefit is it?"

James teaches to help brother (and sister); not the people of the world.

Any comment?

Yes, yes, and yes.

If I amwrong and you love me, and you follow Jesus teaches, then you have not choise but correctme in love with the sword of the Bible. If you quit is either because you dont care for me, or because you have run out of verses suporting your wrong position.

I am done, because the Bible tells me not to waste my time in pointless quarrels and arguments. I have provided gentle correction and rebuke, with Scripture, and you have refused it. To continue, at this point, would be to argue for the sake of arguing. And, for that reason, I am done.

2 Timothy 2:24 And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

Titus 3:8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. 10 Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.

If you want to believe that this means that you are right, then more power to you. You do not answer to me, and I am not here to win arguments. One day, whether you are right or wrong on this question, you will have to answer to one who has infinitely more authority than me. And, I pray that you will be one to whom He can say "well done, good and faithful servant".

Thank YOU for letting me know someone out there agree's with me! I thought for sure everyone on the thread would just bad mouth me.

anyway's, keep giving and remember, give in secret and give expecting nothing in return. you usually do get something in return is my guess but let it be a gift to you and not an obligation.

GOD BLESS YOU!

Give, gice and give is the speach of those recieving, recieving and recieving.

Humans of the world give; do not take the shape of the world.

Proverbs 3:1-6
1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, 2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. 3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

I you are willing to waste your time argueing for the sake of arguing, it is Ok with me.

God is asking us to be good stewrds of the "money" He gives us. He tels us to use it in a wise and saint way. The poirpouse of Goving us "money" is to bring fruits. So far we understand that "money" is not just plain money but all kind of resourses, materials, intelectals, morals and spirituals.

The fruist we have to bring are basically to spread the Gospel, to bring the Good News to all the world. And we are not suposed to deviate from that goal, that aim. We are not supposed to get distracted with any other busines or activity draining our potentials to acomplish the Great Commision.

But as human I cant help from reading comics, super-heroes comics. How does reading comic to bring other to Christ? I can not see how it is compatible with the Great Commision. Shall I quit reaqding comics. What I can do is not spending a coin into buying a comic. What I do is to search on internet at my free time. But I never lose the perspective that as soon an oportunity shows up, I stop whatever I am doing for speaking about salvation in Jesus.

Perhaps, you prefer to help people (of the world) in need instead of reading a Superman comic book. What can I say. It is Ok, go ahead. But do not forget about the GC.
