  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You've got some great suggestions so far. I have a friend who sells stuff on etsy. My sister-in-law buys and sells vintage barbie clothes on ebay, I do freelance writing to earn some extra money, a neighbor babysits dogs - when owners go away on holiday they drop their dog off with her and she looks after it. She makes really good money.

Hope your husband can find something he enjoys doing to make money. :prayer:

Would he be interested in some kind of trade school, and is that something you can afford? If he likes construction work, for example, or landscaping or design, then a trade school can give him the practical skills he needs to actually pursue something in a field he likes.

Learning construction can let him get into things like house flipping. You buy a run down house, make repairs and resell. It does require research because you need to know how to maximize the value of the house with the least amount of investment to return the largest possible profit. But there's a lot of freedom to this, and it gives him an outlet for creativity if he's the kind of person that is full of ideas.

If he has other marketable skills, then he can start doing that in the neighborhood and eventually start his own business.

There's also lawn work (mowing, raking etc.). Maybe he'd like babysitting or petsitting. He could work as a groomer, a lot of places will train you. If there's a horse ranch around, he could be a stable hand. Or he could apply to the vets office as a kennel hand and eventually work his way to a vet assistant.
