  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had a Great Pyrenees who shed a small pomeranian every day

LOL!!
My husband and I have a Pyrenees/Chow mix, and not only does she shed a small Pomeranian every day, she looks like a giant Pom! She is beautiful, and such a good girl, we don't mind the daily vacuuming and sweeping!

Dogs are wonderful, aren't they? I once read a quote which said something to the effect that "A dog's devotion to their master shows us how we to Our Master should be." How true!

Hi everyone who loves dogs - I have a 2 year old german shepherd. He's 80% black with red highlights and about 85 lbs. large size. Just gave him a bath yesterday, and boy he lost a lot of hair and still losing his winter hair. I can see black hair on my rugs again and its back to the vaccum. Oh well, but we love him anyway. Oh we also have a yorkie 5 lbs. and I'm glad he doesn't shed.

We wanted a german shepherd first, but that didn't work out. My first shepherd died and it was hard to wait for other one. My husband mentioned a lap dog, for a lap dog will always stay small like a pup. So the yorkie came first and 3 months later the german shepherd. The yorkie will play for a little while, but shepherd never seems to stop and his 2 1/2 years old now. They play together at times, but we have to keep a watchful eye for the little one is the alpha. When we leave the house we keep them separated. We want the shepherd to be the guard dog of the house when gone.

I prefer short-haired animals. My husband and I have 2 black labs and 2 domestic shorthair cats. Labs are notorious shedders, and there is black fur everywhere.

We have a long haired black lab, Buddy, and I agree with the statement that his long hair is annoying and gets everywhere but it is pretty easy to pick up after.....

Rosemoss- Could you tell me more about your long-haired black lab? I ask because lab hair is a short, "hard" double-coat. Is your lab a mixed breed? Or could it be a flat-coated retriever, which looks like a long-haired black lab. Labs are my passion and I am very interested about your pup. Thanks! :)

I have a pure bred boxer. She is great! I love her very much... She is still a puppy and some what of a handful
lol cool - my neigbhor has a boxer.................he supposedly was kicked out of obedience school which i think is ridiculous b/c its an oxymoron and the dog bites all the time and jumps up at ppl and that bark is so annoying, loud, and long. Its a playfully bite but has scratched even my friends brothers (11) (7) he is 13/14
