  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I have to say that
CATS RULE AND DOGS DROOL!!!!!!!!! :sorry: Heh heh heh heh

Actually, I've always been a cat person, "1st Love" was very catly, even. lol
But I am a believer in the idea of cats being like women and dogs being like men. No, really, think about it. (the punchline would be "and we're s'posed to get ALONG!?")

Since working at the Vet's for awhile, now, I have been persuaded to reconsider my feelings re: canines.....Sometimes, it is a good thing to have that unbridled, total adoration! :) Ordinarily I prefer the independance of my kittys, but then there are those occasions when I like to be sought out and slobbered on---I mean, loved on, in a slobbery, uncoordinated way. :D
So, give me felines any day, but I admit to having had my heart touched by more than a couple of those OTHER critters. Maybe some day I'll find a pup that is kind of like a cat. Blessings;

I like cats becuase a cat makes you work for thier affection. Unlike dogs which simply love you becuase the you know were the food is.

ats are the best.

Cats have an air of superiority about them.

If a dog breaks a lamp, you know instanly who did it, the dog looks assamed and drops his head.

If a cat breaks a lamp, the cat goes about his business like nothing happened. When you look at the cat, it simply replys, "Lamp? What lamp, I'm a freaking cat, go look at the dog.."

Cats are very proud animals, if a cat runs into a glass window, he will get back up and walk away like nothing happened. "Oh look at me, I ment to do that"

He's far to proud to let you see his pain. Behind the couch he's goign "Oh ****, man that hurt"

Cats are very independant. They can take care of themselves.

You are the dogs master, but the cat is yours. You pet it, when it comes rubbing for affection, you feed it when it meows and you clean up after it.

The move thier head to were they want you to sratch them.. Think about that one.

All in all, cats are simply better than dogs.

There are variations in these two animals.

The Siberian cat is large, hypoallergenic, loyal, will follow you around like a dog, sit in your lap for hrs needing your companionship, alert you when someone is at the door, and some are even protective.

The Greyhound is a breed of dog that has superior intelligence, is quiet, shorthaired, clean, doesn't shed, and rarely smells. If you've ever seen a pic of one laying down looking at the camera, you'd swear he was royalty posing for a painting. This dog has a lot of dignity. Don't expect a doberman or anything.

Though these examples are extreme and not mainstream, they are domesticated breeds most anyone can attain. And you know what, I'm not even sure what my point was with that. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

I think cats are really cool, but I'd have to say I personally like dogs the best. A dog is a "here and now" emotional kinda creature. His one mission in life is to make you happy. He needs you to be happy. If you're not happy he knows it and it bothers him. A cat is more reserved, to the point to where I look in it's eyes and ask myself what it could possibly be thinking. Give me the "here and now", wet nose, waggin tail and all.

Which is better...but why are they better?

Well I know all animals have redeeming qualities, but I definitely prefer dogs. They're cuddly, protective, loyal, easy to please, best friends, playful and awesome company. Almost every night I thank God for my dog. She's my best friend, teddy bear/soft toy and protector. Not to mention, she's such a cutie!
I'm also a bit of a recluse so she's great company without being too intrusive (most of the time).
