Sun light is the best disinfectant. Use this thread to show what DOGE has found. Millions or Billions in waste from taxpayers pockets . No wonder Washington Democrats are freaking out. The party is over, time to clean house. What has DOGE cut so far?

I'll wait to see exactly how anything cut by DOGE is actually affecting the US. What criteria are they using to see if a "DEI" position is actually DEI and not a high quality employee.

I know the left is coming out with guns blazing against this administration but only time will tell if their fears are warranted. So I agree with Yarddog with DEI and any other program this administration is working on, in that we have to hide and watch and a lot of the arguments are just assumptions.

This isn't a DOGE thing but I've voiced my disapproval about OSHA policy and if this comes to fruition I will be the first to attack.

Occupational health and safety? Who needs that? Workman's Comp? Let them toil for minimum wage and take their chances! It worked well in South Africa under apartheid, after all.
Some people need to take off those veils of impenetrability and see what's really happening. And conservative media is complicit in reinforcing those veils of impenetrability.

Your sarcasm makes your thoughts less credible. I personally don't think they can do away with OSHA without a fight. The veils from the media are a left and right problem not just one side.

I'd like to see how cutting DEI saved a billion. Seems more like a guess. I am not saying I do not support cost savings but if you are throwing out numbers break it down so we can see how the figures are arrived at.

OSHA didn't exist until 1971. How on earth did employees manage to survive before then?

Well.. some did. Some did not.

Accidental workplace deaths have fallen 60% since OSHA.

However, I do agree OSHA has gotten too nutty. There has to be some balance between too much safety regulations and none at all.

I'll admit that I don't have a huge amount of faith that companies believe worker safety > $.

If DOGE cut OSHA, and that's a big if, it seems likely it would be in favor of something that's designed better.

The veils are being taken off. It is the ridiculous wasteful spending that is being cut. With the debt this country has one would think waste would be a priority to go, but it seems the Washington establishment is freaking out and becoming unhinged at common sense values.

People are talking about Dems being upset, but realistically, it is bipartisan cuts that are unfolding. Such as that of the bipartisan infrastructure law. Time will tell how many private sector contractors are put out of work because of this.

I'm all for cutting fraudulent grants and loans. But the process in which Trump is doing this, has the potential to impact many in negative ways. USAID for example, may publish transgender books for Peru (worth cutting), but it also rolls out vaccines and medicines that save millions of lives abroad, every year (worth saving). If president Trump cuts 100% of USAID, we might save a few dollars (a drop in the massive bucket of US spending), and in return, many will suffer and die as a result.

Cutting bipartisan infrastructure law funding for solar programs may be worth doing. Maybe. But we might also wonder what will happen to all of the contractors and private sector workers that have already been awarded these funds. Do they just lose their jobs because the funding has been frozen?

Actually it is mainly Democrats freaking out and becoming unhinged. Yes there are some Republicans responsible for wasteful spending but the more vocal threatening rhetoric is from Democrats.

It's bipartisan awarded funding, to the private sector, that's being frozen. That impacts everyone, not just the Democrats.

For example, where does our lead pipe removal funding come from these past 4 years? That's all BIL law funding that is frozen. And some quantity of private sector construction workers and engineers that are now without funding.

Getting rid of corruption is great. But how many Americans are about to lose their jobs (or already have) as a catalyst in the methods Trump is using to do this?

USAID had some 15-20,000 employees. If you eliminate the agency, that's great for cutting corruption, but what about perhaps the 10,000 employees doing legitimate work that shouldn't be cut? I guess they'll just be homeless?

Thats because 97% of the employees at USAID, donated to and supported the democrats.
USAID transformed from helping people to becoming a PAC for the democrats.
