  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I would go with a dog. I've got four dogs and I love taking care of any cats that come around. Most of my friends have cats and I've never really found them to be as loving but they want to be more to themselves. Do you have a fenced in yard? You could leave the dog out whenever you leave or anything. If you do get a cat I'd really suggest it being a house cat.

Cats all the way! I've never been too fond of dogs. My dad has two golden retrievers, yes they are beautiful dogs, but very crazy! Whenever I bring my son to their house, the dogs go crazy. The cats kind of mind their own business. Cat's are alot easier to take care of than dogs. Cats do their own thing. Although if you want that companionship, then a dog is something you want to consider. JMHO.. I prefer cats.
