Doesn't make sense.

Where did God come from? I don't really like the answer "He just was." It makes no sense if you go back trillions upon trillions of years, there has to be a point when God was "created." It's really not intelligent to believe something just "was" or "is."

I'm not insulting anyone I just really want to know what the answer is.

Hi and Welcome to CF!

There really is no other answer than God always was. As humans we can not even concieve of such; as in my mind then, I think, well, where does God start and stop and it leads to so very many questions.

Is a verse in the bible says that we are all in Him. In Him we live and move and have our being.

Everyone of us, the verse speaks of, not just believers.

Not sure if that is literal, but makes me think then that God indeed has no starting place or stopping place, in the same way, I rather doubt the universe has or space. How could it. The stopping place at one place would be a starting place of another.

So, is very hard for humans to concieve of God (near impossible really) as to His being and what He is like as to form, etc. but I just think God is all over, is not confined in any way, though Jesus was while in the form of a man. Confined to humanity though is God and was of course while here on earth as well.

Trinity, is another nearly impossible to explain.

But again, in answer to your question God did always exist, always was.

I'm sure there are books and books on this topic.

Take care,
tapero

Why?

Especially considering that time itself is part of the universe and therefore part of creation.

You cannot go back trillions of years because there have not been trillions of years (even by the most liberal evolutionist standars it's only billions). Go back as far as time has existed and there is God. God is eternal with no beginning or end. He created time. Before time was God and after time is God. It will take us the rest of eternity to attempt to understand this and I do not belive we ever will fully.

But about your statement that this belief is not intelligent. What then is an intelligent belief? That something created God? If so what? And what created THAT? And so on. At some point you have to come to a point where a creator just allways was. It is no more unreasonable to believe in an eternal God than in a never ending procession of creators going back forever with no possible resolution to the first origin.

Either something has allways existed and created everything else or something came into existence out of nothing and with nothing to cause it to do so in order to create everything else. Only two options, seemingly equally improbable. I chose the one the Bible teaches.
