I've been happily married for 2 years and even have a baby, but my mother and my husband have never seen eye to eye.

The other day I was speaking on the phone with my mum and she told me that when my husband and I first met, she prayed to God about why they weren't getting along, and He told her that He didn't know my husband.

Does God not know everyone? Or is my mother hearing from something else?

God only responds that "He has it covered."
God never prophesies any details, or bad-mouths people.
Just imagine God telling you your favorite team would win the SuperBowl
and that the other team sucks. What would He tell the other team?

There is a difference between casually knowing someone and having a deep personal relationship.

In Matthew, our Lord used these chilling words: "Depart from me, ... I never knew you." (Matt 7.23)

It is the deep personal knowing and not just the casual acquaintance HE is talking about here.
