CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you are unable to understand, why are you even here?
If you can't understand this simple point how can you be expected to understand the finer points of Christianity which require far more intelligence and wisdom that the simple concept of the burden of proof?

Why did the people from the past go for advice to the elders then? Why is the word Senat derived from the Latin word senex, meaning ''old man''?

Jesus' disciples were high school drop outs they were classed as the uneducated to the point no rabbi would have anything to do with them than a man by the name of Jesus the great master (rabbi) found them along the sea shore fishing and at a tax Both taxing more than he should
Jesus full of wisdom looks at them and says come follow me I'll make you fishers of men. They were taught by the best to the point the religious leaders acknowledged them as the uneducated but yet speaks of one being taught by someone with wisdom and grace.
Intelligence says I know how but wisdom says I'll show you how.

The elders were asked for advice/problem solving, and old age is ususally connected with wisdom.

The bible clearly says there the Wisdom that comes from God it's pure...
and than there's earthly Wisdom that's demonic...
Now can you distinguish the two rightly dividing one from the other?
Iv seen earthly wisdom operate in a Christians life they thinking they are doing God a service but fail to see they are influenced by demons rooted and moved out of fear.

And the main beneficiary of such wisdom is often one's self alone, as in wisely not becoming involved in the problems of others (sorry, couldn't resist).
