I'm the first to admit that I do watch stuff that will rot a brain -
I just watch it anyways & 'filter' out what I know is wrong with it.

& I will not watch what steps over the line for me in what I can't even enjoy if I do watch it. I can't & won't watch "Desperate Housewives" -
however, I will watch a zombie flick or Dexter in a heartbeat
& personally I think the news can be very harmful to us too.
I think it turns us negative & pessimistic over time.

I think if we cut out ALL bad content, I think we'd have to
throw away our tv's entirely

i agree theres lots of really bad shows on tv and even bad commercials, especially on cable. we recently got rid of our cable because we just don't want our children exposed to it. we now have basic tv channels plus sky angel

Surprisingly...Desperate Housewives, more often than not, has some pretty profound moral messages.

I don't even know how to begin to respond to this, so I'll mull over the idea of watching adulterous relationships as entertainment and morality teachings...maybe could get at Sunday School cirriculum out of a season or something

I can see where that's a reasonable and accurate assumption...

While it does present these things...it also presents the consequences of such...

I'm by no means condoning what the show portrays...just saying...they also present the flip side....how harmful greed, lust, lying, adultery, thanklessness and such can be...

(altho I have to admit, the last season of Dexter wasn't near
as good as the first 2 were.
So. . . they better pick things up on the next season or else
I'll just stop watching it.

It's almost like the Matrix - they couldn't top the first movie.
Why is the first one always the best?
