God says "I am the truth!"
I think we can agree on that we all are trying to find out what is true about life. That means when we talk about what is true about life we are actually talking about the very nature of God itself - we are talking about who God is.
What YEC's are telling me is that the truth about life is confusing (I am referring to the debate creation v.s. evolution now), it seams to be one way while it is another. This is called deception. YEC's are telling me that deception is a truth (they are telling me I cant believe what I see). In other words YEC's are telling me that the nature of God is to be deceptive. But all Christians know this is not true. All Christians knows who the great deceiver is - and it is not God.
I believe what I see, therefore I do not believe in YEC.
I believe in truth, therefore I believe in God?
Do I speak about God if I speak the truth?
Do I have to believe God exists to speak about the nature God?
Can every human understand the true nature of God or only some - the "enlightened"?
