Is it important for government to keep society from knowing too much in order to avoid insurrection?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes. The state should control the media. All of the books should be burned. The internet should be controlled. We don't want any of that commie nonsense here. Oh wait.

Well, governments are fond of supporting public schools, so I think there's lots of knowledge they'd like people to have. They'd like people to know how wonderful their (current) government is, for example.

They learn that and how important nature conservation is. That is the new religion when they figure out how to make it work. They'll implement that as well as the carbon tithe er I mean tax and call it a day. Well, they might start making soylent green via carousel while they're at it.

See, this is why I said you're starting to scare me. You're mixing two different sci-fi scenarios. If memory serves me, the aging people in Logan's world were simply destroyed, not eaten. Let's worry about one sci-fi plot at a time.

Having said that, I meant the good of society as a whole. I mean, wouldn't it be a higher good to send the young and beautiful people off to the carousel when they're past their prime? (I'm thinking the Kardashians would be in line for that soon. Keep that in mind.)
