On January 25, Pope Benedict XVI again proclaimed his desire “to ignite a fervent missionary movement in the Catholic Church,” stating he wants to advance “the entire Catholic Church into a new missionary age” in 2011 (catholic.org, January 28, 2011). While this movement will ultimately contribute to fulfilling prophecies such as Isaiah 47:8-9 and Revelation 17:2-5, an aspect of this rejuvenated “fervent missionary movement” already affects billions. This is the growing emphasis on Sunday observance.

Did the Pope say anything about fervently enforcing Sunday observance? We could use more people spreading the story of Jesus to the Muslims and Buddists and such around the world.

Do you think that things are best done one step at a time? You know, the old frog in the frying pan story..

Do you think the Roman Catholic church's singular, ultimate goal is enforced Sunday observance? Is the main thrust of their whole theology and doctrine centered about which day worship should be on?

Do you think history has a habit of repeating itself .. especially if an organization has never repented of its habits in the first place... so given a chance.. would they push the enforcement of a law already on the books?

What do you mean?

Surely you are aware of JP II's apologies to the various groups that the Catholics have persecuted?

Here are some... the date and place of apology included.

The legal process on the Italian scientist and philosopher Galileo Galilei, himself a devout Catholic, around 1633 (31 October 1992).

Catholics' involvement with the African slave trade (9 August 1993).

The Church Hierarchy's role in burnings at the stake and the religious wars that followed the Protestant Reformation (May 1995, in the Czech Republic).

The injustices committed against women, the violation of women's rights and for the historical denigration of women (10 July 1995, in a letter to "every woman").

The inactivity and silence of many Catholics during the Holocaust (16 March 1998)

For the execution of Jan Hus in 1415 (18 December 1999 in Prague). When John Paul II visited Prague in 1990s, he requested experts in this matter "to define with greater clarity the position held by Jan Hus among the Church's reformers, and acknowledged that "independently of the theological convictions he defended, Hus cannot be denied integrity in his personal life and commitment to the nation's moral education." It was another step in building a bridge between Catholics and Protestants.

For the sins of Catholics throughout the ages for violating "the rights of ethnic groups and peoples, and [for showing] contempt for their cultures and religious traditions". (12 March 2000, during a public Mass of Pardons).

For the sins of the Crusader attack on Constantinople in 1204. (4 May 2001, to the Patriarch of Constantinople).

Yup.... check out Foxe's Book of Martyrs. It was not only the number of people the Catholic church killed, it was the satanically cruel way in which the Inquisition was conducted. Simply being burned at the stake was merciful compared to some of the devisings of the inquisitors.

And guess what? The crime of heresy is still a part of the Catholic canon... wait for the wound to be completely healed.

Does this guy look Godly to you?

I'm not aware of the RC church historically pushing capital punishment for anyone worshipping on a day other than Sunday. Many Catholics choose to attend their weekly mass on Sarurday evening, most of the time long before sundown.

This was an issue first addressed in the Council of Laodicea in 366-367.

Wikipedia said:
The major concerns of the Council involved constricting the conduct of church members. The Council expressed its decrees in the form of written rules or canons. Among the sixty canons decreed, several aimed at:
  • Maintaining order among bishops, clerics and laypeople (canons 3-5, 11-13, 21-27, 40-44, 56-57)
  • Enforcing modest behaviour of clerics and laypeople (4, 27, 30, 36, 53-55)
  • Regulating approach to heretics (canons 6-10, 31-34, 37), Jews (canons 16, 37-38) and pagans (canon 39)
  • Outlawing the keeping of the sabbath and encouraging rest on Sunday (the Lord's Day) (canon 29)
  • Outlining liturgical practices (canons 14-20, 21-23, 25, 28, 58-59)
  • Restrictions during Lent (canons 45, 49-52)
  • Admission and instruction of catechumens and neophytes (canons 45-48)
  • Specifying the Biblical canon (canons 59-60)
While there was no death decrees associated with heresy at this time, the death decree was eventually instituted for all acts of heresy if not recanted.

Catholics going to Mass on Saturday afternoon or night does not constitute keeping Sabbath.

So what day we worship on doesn't matter, as long as we rest on the Sabbath? (actually I guess that is Biblical)

What was the punishment for adultery at that time? Do you think the Catholic church will enforce all it's beliefs with capital punishment? There is much more to Catholicism than what day they keep as a day of rest.

BTW, I had a very devout RC boss a few years ago who would work on Sunday and have us do so, too. I now work with a lot of Catholics and have never had an impression that they abstain from work, or buying and selling, on Sunday.

I work part time on-air at a radio station on Sunday afternoons. I suppose when the Sunday law goes in effect, I will be out of a job. Not only am I working, but I am also selling (playing ads). I can just imagine the dead radio dial and TV stations one day a week............:)

Not only that but evidently the Catholic Church will outlaw it's own practice of holding Mass on Saturday...
...And persecute the Catholics who attend Mass on Saturday.
...According to the SDA prophetic schema.

It's not just the pic... the Bible clearly states who the beast of Revelation is.

This power came up and replaced three established powers.

-Rome broken into ten kingdoms... three Arien nations defeated by Rome and her proxies to usher in the establishment of the Papacy as the head of Rome.

This power would speak basphemies against the most high.

- what is blasphemy?

Matt 26:63-65
But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

64Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 65Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

John 10:33
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Declaring ones self as God is blasphemy

"The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth."
Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Chapter XXVII, p. 218, "Cities Petrus Bertanous"

"The Pope takes the place of Jesus Christ on earth...by divine right the Pope has supreme and full power in faith, in morals over each and every pastor and his flock. He is the true vicar, the head of the entire church, the father and teacher of all Christians. He is the infallible ruler, the founder of dogmas, the author of and the judge of councils; the universal ruler of truth, the arbiter of the world, the supreme judge of heaven and earth, the judge of all, being judged by no one, God himself on earth." Quoted in the New York Catechism.

What else constitutes blasphemy?

Matt 9:2-4
And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
3And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

Forgiving of sins is considered blasphemy...

Catholic Encyclopedia said:
In the Fathers the references to the promise of Matthew 16:19, are of frequent occurrence. Almost invariably the words of Christ are cited in proof of the Church's power to forgive sins...
Catholic Encyclopedia said:
Thus St. Augustine in several passages declares that the authority to bind and loose was not a purely personal gift to St. Peter, but was conferred upon him as representing the Church. The whole Church, he urges, exercises the power of forgiving sins
Catholic Encyclopedia said:

This power would be a woman (church) controlling a beast (state or political power)

Wikipedia said:
Vatican City is an ecclesiastical[5] or sacerdotal-monarchical[6] state, ruled by the Bishop of Rome—the Pope.

This power would be located on seven hills...

Rev 17:4-9
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
7And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

wikipedia said:
The Seven Hills of Rome (Italian: Sette colli di Roma) east of the river Tiber form the geographical heart of Rome, within the walls of the ancient city.

This is just a portion of the evidence that the Papacy is the beast power of Reveleation... don't need no pics to see the evil evident in this.

By your own church canons are you reproofed.... check out canon 29 from the Council of Laodicea above. To outlaw something is to make it a crime, a heresy. Catholics do not 'keep Sabbath' by attending an unholy mass on Saturday.
