Does the God of the Bible really hate witches so much that he would have them killed?

No, the OT wasn't too harsh but it was necessary. God judges sin - sin is rebellion against God- this was shown in the OT. Sin is like cancer - its has to be destroyed or it will destroy others. For example, the Canaanites put their infants on a flame as a human sacrafice to their false god - this was just one thing they did out of many. I can't tell you the rest here because my grandmother couldn't read it which is the rule at this website. Thus, God destroyed the Canaanites to protect Israel from their very dark pagan deeds. Murder? God gives life and takes it away. He is the Creator and has that right. In the Old Testament God used Israel for his glory as a nation. But today in the New Testament we are saved by grace and Christ who became the perfect sacrafice - Christ fulfilled the Old Testament. Its the grace dispensation.

Merry meet! I have a question for all you Christians out there. Does the God of the Bible really hate witches so much that he would have them killed? This verse seems to state that:

(Exo 22:18 KJV) Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Witchcraft is a way to rely on the self. God wants us to rely on Him.
So just as Adam and Eve practiced self worship by denying the truth of God, so to witches deny the Glory and Wisdom of God. We as Christians are to totaly submit to the will of the living God knowing fully that anything He ordains for us is Holy and perfect. With that mentality one would not seek to become as the god of their own circumstance. We ask God, by faith, to help us in our times of need. We must never look outside of the will of God Almighty or else it is sin. We live by a standard of rules found in the Bible. We do not have the choice to turn from His moral laws. Living outside of His law is sin.
As we all know the wages of sin is Death.

And he hates the sinners too?:confused:

You tell me. Surely you are familiar with this verse and what it means:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." ~John 3:16

The wages of sin is death. In other words, sin causes separation from God, and attachment to God is necessary for life. God solved this problem by sending His own son to remedy the problem. He had to become a person and take our sins upon Himself and die in our place. That is not an act of hate, it's an act of love. To refuse to accept the remedy - that is more than sad....
