hey again. okay my parish sings in Latin right before the Eucharist a song about "the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world". does anyone know these words in latin so i can learn to sing along?

First off let me say you are very fortunate to have a parish that sing this in Latin.

It is known as the Agunus Dei (Lamb of God)

Agnus Dei, (Lamb of God)

qui tollis peccata mundi, (Who takes away the sin of the world)

miserere nobis (Have mercy on us)

Third time end with
dona nobis pacem (Grant us peace)

Our Parish have a separate booklet in which are in, all the sung Latin prayers...every Mass for the last 6 months i have forgotten to pick one up though, so i just listen to the choir and the priest instead.

lol i remember when i was younger and i would always wonder what the priest was saying when he said the Agnus Dei. It didnt occur to me until later on that it wasn't even english.

I was looking at the apostles creed in Greek, that was interesting. I am thinking about taking Greek at school next year. it will help me in my new testament studies

I tried to translate it but you all would laugh at my feeble attempt.
All I know is that the first part talks of Jesus being born of the Virgin Mary, and dying on the Cross. Also I think a mention of the spear in His side and the blood and water flowing from the wound. ?
