Does Luke 21:25 reflect the Tsunami?

Luke 21:25-26, "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars; and on earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken."

Our pastor brought this up tonight. Just think the tsunami did cause distress among the nations, what was it 11 countries involved? What do you think? Is this just another example of the end times fastly approaching or are these signs going to happen after tribulation? They said the power of the earthquake affected the tilt of the planet. Weird huh?

Interesting question. I'm a firm believe in pre-trib rapture...but I do believe the in watching the happenings of the world.

Though no man will know the hour of His appearance in the clouds ;) I frequently catch myself watching them wondering when He'll appear...

Perhaps the tsunami's were a sign of the times. There are weird weather, strange tides and other indicators floating around...

War in the middle east, widespread hatred of the nation of Israel, an upswing in the frequency of natural disasters, a coming inversion of the polarity of the earth, global warming that will cause a large part of the earth to become uninhabitable in our lifetimes, yep, those are all signs of the times. He's coming in our lifetimes, I am more and more convinced.

I don't know if that verse does, but I believe this one does for sure ;)

Psalms 46:1-3 To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.

I've seen a lot of threads on the reasons for the Tsunami. I do see it as a end times sign. Some people have said that it is God's way of punishing evilness which can be true too.

I believe it should be a wakeup call to all christians FIRST to show us we have a limited time to get out and share the gospel of Christ to everyone and to also help others who are in need.

That's what our pastor's message was about, running the race. We've got to get going before it's game over.

I believe that the tsunami could absoultely be a sign of the end time. There have been signs of Christ's returning for 2000+ years. I believe that it is getting closer and closer every day.:)

I love to read about everyone's opinions. I learn a lot, and I keep an open mind & think about each response. You guys are a great blessing.

Thanks for the question.:amen:

Sorry, but your'e wrong on this one..Jesus said:
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mar 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these [are] the beginnings of sorrows

No, it isn't fulfilled prophecy from Luke 21:25 or Mat. 24:7.

Regarding earthquakes, there was a larger series of quakes in the first century A.D. than there are in the same period of time today, but that was in the past so we know that there was no eschatalogical breakthrough since then. Similarly, there were equally devastating natural disasters (tsunami and earthquake, respectively) in previous years--1896 and 1775 to be exact--to show that this is just another radical occurrence from our God who allows things to happen for reasons beyond our own measure.

With that said, we should never inflate ourselves to think that we're a "rapture generation" but never be so off-guard that we are not proclaiming the Gospel. The time is still short, regardless of the Master's timely return.

I read up a little more on this subject.

Do you think Southeast Asia are the worst sinners of all the world? I tell you no!

Read Luke 13 verse 1-5.

Natural disasters is just how this world works sometimes.

Tsunami was equal. Hindu, Buddists temples and shrines was destroyed along with the Christian churches.

I dunno. The bible at least in my limited knowledge of eschatology mentions things like these as birthing pains. Now, Labor lasts for hours and hours, so whose to say the earth hasnt been sufferings these pains on a much grander time scale for that reason. These pains lead to the birth of the end, so let us get out there.

I think that in part this along with other natural and man mad occurances are pointing to a quickening of the end of days.

Mat 24:14 "And this good news of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end shall come.

And today that comes true more and more so as never before in history has the gospel message come to the ears of so many and in so many places.

The final battle the one known as Armageddon will happen in Meggido which is in the middle east. Are not already the armies massing at the borders of Y'sreal?

Birth pangs to be sure

Even so the faithful say

Maranatha!
