Does it make God happy when we thank Him?

I was thinking about this yesterday.

I kept thinking about how I often don't pray because I feel like I'm talking to no one. I know God hears us but we usually if ever don't get a verbal response like we would if we were talking to someone here on earth. It frustrated me that God wants us to love Him more than anyone else when He's not physically here to even respond to what we say to Him. I was very frustrated.

Then I thought, but when I thank God for what He does, I'm not thanking Him for me to feel good about it, I'm thanking Him because it makes Him happy. Then I thought that it might be a little easier to say thank you to God if I know that He's actually happy when I do this. Maybe I don't get the satisfaction of having Him respond when I say thank you, but I can have the satisfaction of knowing that it makes God happy every time I do say thank you.

It blesses Him.

We like for people to say please and thank you when we do things for people. So our father is no different. That is my 2 pennies.

I'm sure it makes Him happy too, to hear His own children thanking Him :)
I also believe that when we give thanks, it also demonstrates humbleness before Him and acknowledging the things we do have in our lives. And..that in turn, fills us with contentment instead of an attitude of complaining. I believe He says things in His Word that are for our benefit as well. Like when He says to have faith- it's so that we can stand strong against the attack of the enemy when the enemy goes at us with lies and condemnation and doing whatever it can to bring us down and make us feel separated with God, when in fact, God wants us to persevere no matter how many times we may stumble and how often we continually do- so long as we seek forgiveness, repent, and continue to pursue Him no matter what.
