  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, it was a bummer. The band was awesome. They played some kickin' praise and worship music before the TLW speakers came up. It was a husband and wife team from Georgia. They go around the nation doing the TLW conferences. The guy got up there and shared his testimony and then they separated the guys and girls. We had a brief time getting acquainted with everyone and then we had closing prayer. Apparently it was a two-day conference and the youth group was having a lock-in. I had made prior engagements for Saturday so I wasn't able to attend.

This morning my co-worker (whose in the band that played) said it was horrible. Apparently they were supposed to have the conference all day Saturday and then a wrap-up bonfire Saturday night. Well, the wife never showed up and when the church's youth pastor called their house the husband said they couldn't come because he would be watching college football all day so the youth pastor asked them not to come back that night. The really awful thing is, the church paid them $1000 up front to lead this two-day conference and they were only there for two hours. That's sad.

No foolin'! I mean, if it were an emergency I could understand, but come on. It's football! And if he bailed on a paid engagement to watch the Georgia/Auburn game I'm sure he was sorely disappointed. Blah, what an awful game for UGA. *cries*
