Does God still speak?

I mostly asking about if He speakes personally to people, but lets include the church.

“God, who long ago spoke on many occasions and in many ways to our forefathers by means of the prophets, has at the end of these days spoken to us by means of a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the systems of things”. (Hebrews 1:1, 2)

Today, God is not speaking to his people by means of an angel, as he did to Moses say at the burning bush. God has spoken by means of his Son. What God said by means of him, he had recorded in the Bible, which has been translated into the languages of people all around the world. By reading the Bible God is then indirectly speaking to us. The writings of the Apostles of Jesus Christ are termed Letters. What is the purpose of a letter other than to communicate to someone in who’s presence you are not directly in.

As for me,

1. 95% of the time by the inward witness ie peace means green light, lack of peace or check in the spirit means "no go"/"dont do it".
2. still small voice.
3. thru my Pastors sermons. particular sentences will be like direct answers to my situation! as though God told him to tell me about it! that i find most 'spooky'! usu happens next day.
4. thru a gentle leading/constant reminder that lasts for weeks until i get that thing done and there's a release.

that's the jist of it....

I think he's talking indirectly to me. Whenver I drift off, my phone would ring, my mum would bust in and keep the clothes, lighting strikes (yes it does!) and something in my room drops. And I don't believe these are random events though they don't happen simultaneously. Outside, He makes it rain when I'm on my way to buy some useless thing I thought was useful at that time. Yes, He does speak to me, but in subtle ways. Praise God!

(Does He speak to you? How does He speak?)

He says: come, let us reason together. God speaks to me when I am awake and when I am asleep. He speaks to me His thoughts, prespective, and attitude.

Right now Him and I are having a conversation about Bible school, sense it starts up in a week or so. Because at first I really did not want to put the effort into it. But He is slowly showing me the benifits.

The ministry I am apart of has about 100 paid employees. From time to time you hear that someone is complaining about the low wages. But God was telling me that He pays good benifits. He takes care of them in many ways so that they are really well paid in blessings and in good health.

He is showing me that our senior pastor is 81 years old, and people complain sometimes, that he sets a pace that is hard to keep up with. But God can give us the strength. It is almost as if God has a sense of humor and He is kind heartedly saying: What you can not keep up with a 81 year old man. If I can give him strength and good health, then I can give you the same as I have given to him, so you can keep up. Someone has to get out and lead and set the pace for everyone else to follow.

he speaks through his scriptures and through the actions of other people. Also through songs, answering prayers I've had and have, among many other avenues.

yep, He certainly does, how else do we know what to do to keep His commands?

At the front line, on a personal, moment by moment level... He speaks to us in the nature of our recreated spirit, that which was made in His image.

1Jo 2:
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

He speaks to you in the new nature that He has given you, in the conscience of your divine nature. He speaks to you in the love and compassion that now is in you. For it is no longer your spirit that lives in you, it is His:

Gal 2:
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I hear Him in the compassion that drives me to be kind and merciful. I hear him in the conviction of sin. I hear Him in the joy and peace He has given.

Col 3:
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

All physical and mental communication are mere echoes and shadows of the things that we have received within the spirit of Christ that now lives in us every instant.

13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. 14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. 15All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.

These scriptures say that God both speaks and teaches.

Are we not supposed to follow Christ's example in everything. He waited for God to not only speak but also move before He did anything.

Let us therefore wait for God to speak before we move.
