Does God still create?

Genesis 1:1
"IN the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

John 1:1-3
"IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

Perhaps an oversimplification, but where else in the Holy Bible does it mention He continues to create?

There are references to Him causing things such as:
He causes the plants to grow (Psalm 104:14; 1 Corinthians 3:6-7), but as I reflect on it, this is not creating, it's the results of His original creation.

I believe He created Adam and Eve and all other life on earth, but I believe it is through procreation and reproduction that life (animals and plants) continues to this day.

After all, when was the last time a new creation was discovered? I'm not talking about the discovery of some new species as this would only show that man has become aware of it, not that it is in any way new to the world.

Many questions we have about "Why did God..." could be explained as the result of original sin and man's interactions that are outside of God's plan. For instance:

Why do bad things happen to good people?
Why did my baby be born with no arms?
Why did this accident take the life of my sister?
Why must we fight wars? Why can't there be lasting peace?
Why do Homosexuals say they were born this way?
Why are there so many religions?
Why do people deny the existence of God?
And on and on.

My pert answer would be: MAN

My posting is meant to be serious and I would appreciate responses in this light, particularly from those whose knowledge and understanding of the Holy Bible are far greater than mine. From those that may not be biblically sound but have considered what I have written above and seek answers as well.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that God created a system at the beginning. It is extremely complex, but doesn't change. This system does, however, provide nearly constant change from our perspective. We see life come and go, discover new knowledge, experience changing phenomena, and of course... people themselves create a tremendous amount of new art, music, literature, etc. Though it may have been conceptualized at the beginning of time, God's creation is still unfolding every day.

Revelations 21:1 "Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea."

Revelations 21:5 "He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

God also created a new covenant with his people. The old one was the curse of the law, the new one is from faith in Christ.

Galatians 3:13 "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."

Science principles:

The universe is expanding faster and faster

Energy is neither created nor destroyed it is simply converted

Psalm 96:1 says "Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth."

So with a new song I suppose there is new creation.

Yes I believe God still creates because he says he will create a new heaven and earth and make things new, he also created a new covenant and the universe is ever expanding and countless souls are created each day in God's likeness and image and God knows when the things to come are to take place.

Mark 13:32 "However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows."

Good points, one and all. I am aware of the creation of the new Heaven and the new Earth. This would be an example of His future creation but not evidence of any current creation. The New Covenant is not an example of Creation, it's a declaration from God.

Your references to science are a result of the original creation, nothing new. Think of it this way. All the Universe since Creation, including us humans are decaying, this is the natural result that God intended, hence His need to create a new Heaven and Earth. God's Ways do not change nor will His Words. We think like humans for that is the way He made us, His thoughts are much greater and higer.

He does give us free will and created humans with the ability to think, perceive and grow in understanding and accomplishments, but our understanding will never come close to the why's and wherefore's of Him until our last day on earth.

If you consider that all the human misery we have it is a compiliation of a replication of the original sin and grows and grows, kind of like a snowball. Though we try and slow down and correct the path of the snowball we are doomed to failure for we are not wise nor strong enough to out think our Lord.

It doesn't take too much thinking to see why our situation is as bad as it is and only God can and will intervene at some future date. Man has created and continues to create the problems on earth including our mental and physical disabilities through generations of our continued sin. To me this explains the why's of my original posting.

I would like to say this:

1) How do we know, that when a new species were just found by man,
that GOD didn't just create it, the day before? To say that HE doesn't
or can't is to limit GOD, which is something HE insists we don't do. Psalm 78:40-44

2) We are all new creations in JESUS

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17

So my question is who is going to say, that our Great GOD can't or does not
create anymore?

Besides, our skin is even recreated - isn't it?

I'm not suggesting He doesn't or can't. He certainly can. It's just that the Holy Bible does not reveal this in terms of Creation of Life or anything of a construct. Besides, my posting is not a salvation issue so it's not like our position on the matter is of that great of importance. The purpose of my post was to give people an opportunity to think on this subject and perhaps evaluate based on biblical reading, study and understanding. This is why God gave us a mind. To "think" which differentiates us from other forms of life.

Recreated is not creation. Of course God created us with the intention of procreation and reproduction (recreated, if you like) as I mentioned in my original post.
