To be honest - I don't know whether or not God "speaks" to anyone on that type of stuff (and I'd be inclined to say no.)
But - on a practical level - given the number of people out there you see with miserable relationships with individuals that they by all signs ought not be with (regardless of whether or not they thought God told them it was "the one") - I'd say that those types of thoughts are inherently flawed.
I mean - how exactly would you know if it really was "God speaking to you" or just your own bad judgment looking for "signs"?
I think then that it's best not to worry about the fantastical or miraculous - and just focus on real things like...do you really like this person? Do you really like all aspects of them? Because - that's what you're gonna be stuck with.
