Does God really speak on who one should marry?

To be honest - I don't know whether or not God "speaks" to anyone on that type of stuff (and I'd be inclined to say no.)

But - on a practical level - given the number of people out there you see with miserable relationships with individuals that they by all signs ought not be with (regardless of whether or not they thought God told them it was "the one") - I'd say that those types of thoughts are inherently flawed.

I mean - how exactly would you know if it really was "God speaking to you" or just your own bad judgment looking for "signs"?

I think then that it's best not to worry about the fantastical or miraculous - and just focus on real things like...do you really like this person? Do you really like all aspects of them? Because - that's what you're gonna be stuck with.

In the case of this guy, no. In general though I think He can always has someone for us depending on where we are at in our life. For example He may have someone for you now. But lets say your life took a major turn a month from now. Then He may have someone else for you lined up that He thinks will work with you.

This doesn't mean you will find that person. Its why if you are with someone thats not really meant for you or doesn't work with you well... the red flags and warnings will go into place. Whether or not you notice those depends on the person. I ignored the flags in my very first relationship. Thank goodness we didn't marry in the end.
