Does God need my permission to save me?

nope, He doesn't. Salvation is open to everyone (save Judas).
but not everyone agrees to be saved. and that's the rub.

You can't believe on your own though... God has to reveal himself to us, its also not in our nature to choose God , if so we wouldn't need him to save us..we'd simply just do what he tells us..but we dont.

I remember Mylon LeFevre saying something like that ("God isn't a rude God. He doesn't force Himself on you without your permission", or something to that effect) and being new to the faith and not well discipled or catechized at all, thinking it was really profound.

But the fact is, God elects who He chooses to elect, He regenerates who He chooses to regenerate, and He saves who He chooses to save.

I think what your question really comes down to is who's prerogative is salvation? Is it ours or God's? The Bible is very clear that it is God's.

The idea of an unregenerate man asking God for salvation is like a dead man picking up a phone and dialing 911 for an ambulance.

There was no mention of tithing or financial support.

My guess is it had something to do with freewill maybe?

That sounds familiar...that God isn't rude and won't impose Himself.


A brother also heard it at a preacher's festival in the Northwest years ago.

Some liberal preacher said this along with other foo-foo teachings.

Franklin Graham immediately followed and the tone of the event took a dramatic turn.

We cannot save ourselves. God asking for permission puts salvation on us.
That is heresy.

We are saved by Grace through faith, not by what we do in anyway, lest we boast about it.
We are saved by Christ alone. Through His unmerited favor and His righteousness is place upon us. Once we repent and place our trust in Christ.

The sin in your life means death. Christ defeated death. He deserves our glory, love and surrendering of ourselves to Him.

You must repent of your sins. To repent means to put your sins down, walk away from them. Trust Christ to place His righteousness in you and you also place Christ on like a parachute. You place your trust in Him.

But as for your post. We cannot save ourselves. Through Christ alone are we saved.

YHWH is the friend of all YHWH'S OWN CHILDREN, ecclesia;

but that one you quoted is not HIS friend, as that one's testimony has been long exposed as contrary to the GOSPEL OF JESUS.
Not to drail this thread though , so look it up online then TEST TEST TEST and see, if YHWH PERMITS, for yourself.

What is it that is different between the demons'/unsaved peoples' belief in God and the belief by saved people? Note: there are also people who know Jesus Christ died for our sins and is God, but are not saved (Matthew 7:21-23).

Some verses to reconcile your answer with (all bolding from me):

I like it when people call Jesus "Yeshua" as if it makes them sound super spiritual. Kind of like when Obama says Spanish words with a fake Spanish accent.

But in answer to your question, no I don't doubt what Jesus says at all. Jesus says we are saved by repentance and faith, not by baptism, which is a response to salvation, not a means of salvation.
