  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

G-ds laws are different than man's laws.
G-d sees adultery as a pretty big sin, but man sees adultery (and the consequent trouble that stems from it) as just having a little fun.

If you suspect you have a gambling problem, then yes, it's a sinful act to bet with your friends. If you don't play Lotto; if you don't go to casino's and if you don't do the on-line gambling thing, then why is it a sin? Heathens cast lots in the Bible, but as far as I know, so did the G-d-fearing people like the people who were on the boat with Jonah. In this case, it's OK even if there are laws against it.

The legality of something is not an indication of whether or not people-in-general think it's okay. Things like adultery being legal has to do with personal freedom.

You need to get off your hobby horse, pet.

As St. Augustine said:

"An unjust law is not a law at all."

If you do not think it's wrong to make a friendly bet, why follow such a stupid law, anyways?

However, I do recommend you do not bet large amounts. Betting large amounts of money with the hope for profit falls into the sin of greed. I would only do it for fun.
