  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Westboro Baptist Church, always ascribe to a major tragedy as from the wrath of God, from 9/11 to Hurricane Katrina to even all the mass shootings, from Sandy Hook to Pulse Nightclub shootings, to this pandemic. There are a few, fundamentalist Christians who believe that this COVID-19 pandemic is God's judgement upon the world. Some fundies also belive that 9/11 and the hurricanes are God's wrath and judgement upon the USA for it's sins like allowing homosexuality.
I know that God is also a God of Wrath. Though most Christians are unwilling to accept this, I have a question about this in terms of dispensationalism:
Some Fundamentalist Christians who believe that God still judges the world through recent tragedies and this pandemic are dispensationalist. But, it seems that according to CONSISTENT dispensationalism, God did NOT cause all these recent tragedies today since we are living in the age of Grace, that is, the time between Pentecost and the Rapture. But does dispensationalism really deny that the Wrath of God is active today and that God is using the pandemic to punish the world for it's sins, for example?
I happen to be pre-wrath BTW, believing that God will start to judge toe world again big time only after the rapture.

Hi Cody,

Yes many Christians get too free with `God is judging this and that`. Well what about all the other evils in the world. I agree with you that there is a time when God will specifically bring judgments upon the rebellious.

Good to remember also that God`s hand of mercy is still stretched out at that time too and there will be untold millions coming to God amid the Great trib. So people who have heard what we said may very well turn to God when things get very bad. That often happens in wars and difficulties. (Rev. 7: 9 - 17)

This great multitude that no one can count, (amazing) die of hunger, or thirst or heat. (v. 16) And these are the results of the judgments going on in the trib.

Keep studying God's Word, and don't believe everything you hear.

Study our Lord Jesus' Olivet Discourse, which are the 7 main Signs of the end of this world, the final Sign being that of His 2nd coming.

Within those Signs, He forewarned about a time of sorrows prior to the tribulation. In that He warned there would be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. He said those things are "the beginning of sorrows" (Matthew 24:6-8). There would be wars and rumors of war.

The start of the "great tribulation" time is marked by the placing of an idol abomination in a new temple in Jerusalem. That is what the "abomination of desolation" from the Book of Daniel is about (Dan.11:31; Matt.24:15-21). That event also signals the revealing of the Antichrist on earth, in Jerusalem sitting in that temple playing God (2 Thessalonians 2). That is 6th Trumpet - 2nd Woe timing in Revelation.

At that same timing, the latter 1260 days of Daniel's symbolic "one week", God's two witnesses are to prophesy for that tribulation period, in Jerusalem, against the beast. They are given similar duty like Moses and Aaron to cause plagues, and the world will be tormented by it, until the Antichrist kills them (see Rev.11).

So in summary, once the actual time of tribulation starts, there will be plagues upon the world, a working by God against the coming Antichrist and his host, all the way until the battle of Armageddon when Jesus comes (Rev.16:15-18).
