Does corruption help mutation more or less?

This is something (a fairly scientific question, I think) about corruption: does it help mutation, more or less?

I expect this can be answered on principle, alone - but to date no one has been able to answer anything else in this way (or given me a reason why not) - I do not mean to judge, just remain observant of what continues, unfortunately, to be obvious to me.

You need to define the term corruption before this question can be answered.
