I am thinking of purchasing a cd version of Quick Verse for studying the Bible, prophecy, etc. I currently use E-Sword and was wondering how they compare - if one is better than the other in terms of what it comes with.

Does anyone here use it and can they recommend which version or package to get since I see different ones are available.

Thanks!

I have QuickVerse, but use E-Sword. The only thing that QV has that E-Sword doesn't is the NIV. But, E-Sword has the HCSB and QV does not. And E-Sword is constantly updating, while I have never updated my QV. All of the books and all of the commentaries are the same. A plus with QV is that you can buy Unger's Talking Dictionary to go with it and it will actually sound out the correct pronunciations of tough biblical names and words. I, personally, would not buy QV instead of using E-Sword. The layout is better in E-Sword and it is easier to use than QV, which has separate windows for each book and commentary. Only if you want the Ungers would I recommend QV.

Thanks daveleau:wave: I appreciate your comparison. I am finding that the available updates and downloads are great for ESword. I just downloaded the bible maps they have too and love the greek and hebrew definition dictionaries! Since I am on a budget too, I think I will hold off getting the quick verse then since it sounds like there would really be nothing advantageous over what I have now. Thanks very much!

God bless,

I have QV v6, E-Sword but have spent the most time using Nelson's Ultimate Bible Reference Library based on the Libronix system. A reasonable one is available for Australian $50 ($US 35 ?). This works well when you set up about 5 or more windows and link them to follow. Eg two Bibles, NTSK linked, and then Enhanced Strong's linked with Vines. You can save other workspaces, eg two Bibles and three commentaries and you can quickly swap between these workspaces.

Each electronic system has some different resources.

Kind regards
Trevor

the new quickverse has a lot of reference material ... commentaries ...
but it is in " acco-read " pdf format ...

I like the old quickverse , as with another poster above , I have both , and use Quickverse 4.0 / KJV with a Hebrew / Greek bible , so can display them side by side to look at words , renderings , synanyms ... etc.

Thank you plmarquette:wave:

That is good to know - particularly the version number - I like the sound of that feature with the Hebrew Greek bible side by side-sounds useful!

Yep. E-sword has Greek and Hebrew versions and a tab for you to pick several Bibles in parallel or comparison. Very nice. My version of QV is 6.
Thanks; I am pretty happy with the E-Sword but figured it might be useful to try the QV also - the E-Sword doesn't have all the versions of the Bible I would like (i.e. as in NIV and Amplieifed versions cost more than buying QV would). I like the KJV, NASB, NIV and NKJV and Youngs LT and am using the Youngs LT and KJV with strongs at the moment.

Thanks!
