  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone else remember the Ben Cooper Halloween costumes you used to get at places like Woolworth's? They always came in a box and were typically nothing more than a cheesy vinyl smock with a plastic mask that would usually cut your face up by the end of the night? Like you would go to lick your lips after eating a piece of candy and slice your tongue up on the mouth opening. The first year I ever went trick-or-treating I wore the Casper the Friendly Ghost costume. I don't think I ever knew proper costumes (the kind that come on a hanger) existed until I was nearly ten years old and Kroger started selling them.

Thanks for making me feel old, Kat!! :D I can remember wearing the Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Witchie Poo, and Pac-Man costumes. After 2nd grade I grew out of them, and I started to make my own costumes, and then after 7th grade, I just stopped dressing up, period.
