Does anyone here sing?

I sing... sometimes. I write a lot of my own music and released an album a year ago (second one's in the works ). I don't really like my voice much, but people enjoy it, so whatever. Someone compared me to Jeff Buckley's voice awhile back... but I feel like that's definitely a stretch.

Lol thanks. In terms of what I write... it's fairly experimental. I listen to a lot of really underground music, so a great majority of it is pretty unorthodox hahahaha. However, if I had to peg a genre I really enjoy singing, and feel I actually can sing with at least a little bit of proficiency, I'd say folk with a little bit of blues mixed in there... or something along those lines

And I'm a vocal major but unfortunately this may sound crazy but I lost my
Passion for singing and sometimes I try to rediscover it but I find it to not
Be there so I have recently gave up on singing which to me used to be life
But I guess you can say I was an ex-singer.

I do too. I also play guitar and write my own worship songs, together with my ministry partner/best friend. We're also going to release our first album together pretty soon, so I am very excited about it. So yes, overall, singing to my King is one of my passions.

I sing in the shower! But I've had a history of on-stage performing in bands singing so I would love to get back into performing, I've also earned money as a busker

Are you guessing I do or I don't? Obviously I play flute well and can scoot by on piano, violin, and clarinet... but do I sing?

Oh really? What is the name of the album, if you don't mind me asking?

I also write songs too. Sometimes it just comes to me, sometimes it's just the chords, and sometimes it's just the lyrics. I wrote down some lyrics 5 months ago, and the chords and tune came to me recently. There were some songs I kind of scrapped because it wasn't Biblical, was too questionable, or didn't draw attention to God. I still keep them, just in case another way to sing them comes or if I decide to rewrite them.

Interesting to see so many songwriters on here! I used to write songs, but then I started writing hymns and rags, which I like much better. I have tried composing a symphony but I'm stuck.

That's good. Sometimes I like to listen to hymns and gospel songs because of how the Word of God is almost grafted into it. But regardless of what song is sung at church, I usually try to rejoice or sing along with them. However, I know that some Christian bands can sing some pretty questionable songs, and those are the moments I don't sing along or I skip to the next group.

I like songs that are biblical and direct attention to God. I'm trying to find a mix between the songs of today and the classics/gospel songs of yesterday.

Interesting. I've always preferred the traditional hymns. I think it's the way I was raised, I have some Quaker ancestors and the idea of a quiet and calm belief in God came down through the generations. I have tried to open up to some of the popular Christian songs out of respect for my friends, but it isn't happening very quickly!

My voice broke so I cannot sing out loud anymore. I can sing quietly. I have sung christian songs from a book in a place of worship .

Oh wow!!! I just checked out your channel. You're a pretty girl with a lovely voice! I really like your originals.

I sing just for the joy of it. I'm not in a choir like some others here are. I used to have a Youtube channel but abandoned it because it was too tempting to let it gobble up my time. I do have some original songs on Viinyl I might share here sometime.

I used to sing in my school regular and Honors Choir, but nothing right now. I'm a 2nd bass, so it's always fun to be able to drop the octave.
